Oh oh, I like chaos, my monthly roller coaster is fun in it's own way. It's rather a trade off between being passionate and being... less fertile. Heh.

Some of my friends have complained that birth control gives them mild depressive like symptoms. But even mild symptoms can get really annoying when they go on and on :P

Have you tried looking into Marena(sp?)? It's a non-hormonal contreceptive that's this tiiiiiny little T-shaped thing they shove up into your uterus.

It's actually not that bad. I've heard it can hurt after getting it put in, but it's generally nothing that some advil and a heating pad/hot bath can't take care of.
