something i need to say

♥ If I can see it, then I can do it. If I just believe it, there's nothing to it ♥
Ok, before all of my MFF happiness report I do have some news to report of something I was dissapointed with that happened during the con. On Sunday night when everyone was having a great time, someone decided to steal a bunch of t-shirts from the hotel staff. This person also decided to start handing them out to attendants at the con. Me and my friends were handed t-shirts and quickly after he left we realized they were most likely stolen. Funny enough I had made friends with some of the employees at the front desk the night before so I took the stack of shirts from my friends and went down to ask my friend at the front desk if they were stolen...they were. The front desk said they saw the guy who did it and they had already called police. I honestly didn't want our convention to be known as theives so I told them I could track him down and get the t-shirts back myself and bring them back. I found someone who could tell me where he was and headed to the room party quickly. On my way to the room party, the cops we headed to the elevator, they were headed to the room below the correct room, this would give me time to get the shirts back before anyone could get in trouble. I got to the room, sure enough there were a ton of furs wearing shirts...I yelled at everyone of them to quickly get them off including the original thief. We then quickly folded them and ran back to the front desk with about 30 more shirts. The hotel staff pretty much kept begging me to give them a name, the cops asked me as well, but I told them it wouldn't happen again and it was an accident. So my friends and I headed away from the front desk toward our room to maybe wind down from the craziness but then the original theif decided to confront me in the main lobby, in front of staff...I decided to leave when staff surrounded him,it was no longer my problem.
Mff new hotel venue is an excellent and magical set up. My friends and I all agree it was the best con we ever had. Something like this will change their veiw and other nice hotel's veiw on having us with them, or they will treat us crappy. Please respect our convention host's and represent our fandom well at all times. I really can't stress it enough. I'd also appreciate if no names were used from my story. I don't want to get all prechy or anything just seriously, this is all of our fandom, and I don't know about y'all, but I'm prolly gonna be here until I'm old and grey.
Take care everyone have a happy thanksgiving,
We all have a lot to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving :)
I am already old and grey so see ya around XD
Thank you for being awesome, Lucky. You are indeed a great person, and I hope everyone knows that. :)
"BlondeFoxy In: T-Shirt Terror!"
I was not selling any t shirts.
Why can't some folks just be happy with going and having good fun.
Thanks for being a great role model. I am so happy to have met you and to know you really are a good and caring person.
But really, who steals SHIRTS from a hotel?! But then... I've dealt with far more dumb things being stolen.
But thanks for doing the right thing.
Keep representing, Lucky.
I can't wait til I can get out there again starting next year and do my part as well. :)
Glad to hear that you got the shirts back and the theif got in trouble for his idiocy.
Wish I could go to a fur con but I'm still waiting till I save up enough money and to get a fursuit or make one before I go to one^^
It was very kind of you to help. Maybe i am being an ass but I would have turned him in immediately for the potential damage he could have done to the con, not to mention that stealing is such a low and cowardly thing to do in the first place.
Aaaaaand probably wacked out. Or just not all together there...or excessively drunk.
I've been looking into MFF and planning to make it a possible future Con. to try and visit and even after this happened, I still hope and plan to attend one year.
Great work getting the t-shirts back! People just....ugh, amaze me.
I'm so happy I got to meet you! You are such a pleasure to be around, and have such a warm personality! I hope we can chill again sometime and have more epic drum circle adventures! X3
Take care! Have a Happy Turkey Massacre Day! 8D

I'm only posting this here so y'all are aware as well and can pass the word to check your accounts =P
I only used my card at the restaurant, the hotel store, the ATM, and to buy that piece i won from you at the art auction. It was always on me even while in suit since I'm a partial suit, and the bank says that someone could be sitting across the room and be grabbing card info with the right equipment, even if it isn't one of those "chip" cards (which mine is not, just an average run of the mill magnetic strip debit card).
It's not a breach in your credit card; rather an authorization charge to your card so the room can clear.
This "scare" also happened with previous FCs and Califurs I've attended. It's not a credit card breach, it's just the hotel authorizing your card for the room you paid for.
I don't know why they do it; to be frank I'm tired of dealing with hotels and incidentals and deposits and whatnot; I just prefer handing someone cash
It's people like you that give me hope for humanity.
Good job taking the action though either way to try and prevent it. We had wondered what the two cars showing up were for as we could see them from the bar.
Best regards ~sheeva
That way they dont think they can get away with that stupid shit again.
Kudos to the OP for what they did, though, even if I think not telling the authorities was a mistake. The crime had obviously been linked to the con already, and withholding the guy's name could have only made it worse.
hmm, lucky just said unless someone is in danger, was someone murdered?, was someone severely beaten?, no
did the shirts get returned, yes.
shut the fuck up, please.
Don't help lawbreakers get away with shit like this!
I just hope that the hotel owners are understanding
you did the right thing for everyone in the fandom including yourself
Thank You!
I would like to thank you for going out of your way to right this wrong. Sadly con staff and security can't see everything, and it's absolutely wonderful that con attendees, like yourself, are sometimes willing to go the extra mile.
Let me discuss this situation a bit with my staff. I will be in touch.
Again I can't thank you enough.
Very truly yours,
Perro
MFF Con Chair Elect
i'm sorry, i just had to say that. and even if she did, since the shirts were returned, the offender would have just gotten a slap on the wrist.
If you have any way to contact your front desk friend... ask 'em about ACen. This past one, some idiots threw a frozen turkey down to the lobby from the top floor, among other stories I've heard. From the things I've been told, our worst offense has been minor compared to ACen or even some other events they've had. Kinda scary >.<
On a side note, I was the fur who found your friends phone and prevented sad fur timez :3
Nice to know I am part of a community of folks who do the right thing even if it effects one of our own.
I'm glad they aren't kicking MFF from the hotel because of the thoughtless acts of one furry. However, I hope next year the person with the horse shoes on the bottom of their feet considers not wearing them.. Because they scratched up a LOT of the marble flooring.. :\

You went out of your way to collect and return as many of the stolen shirts as possible.
The person who stole the shirts got in trouble anyway, but not as much trouble as there could have been.
That's about the gist of it, right?
Obviously, there are those who would've just identified the culprit and let justice happen. Instead, you did your best to make it right and strike a fair balance between justice and mercy. Some may debate the merits of your choice ("honest good" vs. "lawful good"), but it seems most of us (myself included) generally approve.
Hypothetically, if you had not been able to retrieve and return the shirts (for example, if those involved had told you to bugger off when you demanded the shirts back), what would you have done then?
...And was it an accident?
I wonder if the cops did get to that room, if everyone who had a shirt would have gotten in trouble. They should all be thanking you. Though I am glad the original guy did finally get caught because of his own arrogance.
