so we're getting the rest of our smallish-stuff to the house today. that includes the other fishtank, camera stuff, the last remaining bookshelf, etc.
we're still trying to figure out if internet can be set up there. the verizon website let us swap our service to the new address, but the human we spoke to on the phone when we tried to do it by phone seemed confused and said there was no internet out there.
taking a leaf out of a bro's book, i tweeted about it with #verizon. INSTANT RESPONSE! verizon apparently is more on top of their support team working with twitter than they are anywhere else. i guess because a tweet can get them a bad name real fast? either way they're still looking into it.
the first 5 gallon fishtank is already at the house and set up. there's no heat in the house, but the tank itself has a heater. there's only two fish in there as well (a glofish and a cory cat) and i'm pretty sure they'll tough it out.
the house also has water to the plumbing now. we left it switched off last night, since we didn't want to risk the new pipes freezing without any heat.
in regard to my keyboard dying, i just took the troublesome I key off. that means i just need to tap the tiny little nub underneith to get an i, which is surprisingly a lot less frustrating than reattaching a key every ten seconds.
today we make a trip to walmart to pick up some stuff we need to clean the bathroom now that it has water. also we're going to grab a space heater and some other stuff in order to survive for a while.
and with that i gotta go, since alf is slowly tugging ren around the floor while she sits in a box lid...

There it is. You found a work-around.
Yeah, Big Business has become slightly more amenable to pissed of customers because of Social Network sites. Maybe I should do that with Comcast.
I gave them back the modem I leased from them and bought my own. Then they raised my rate by $3.00/mo.
