Which is better, 2D animation, or 3D animation?
PPSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Even so, I'd like to get started on those things!
I am barely starting 3D modeling and stuff, but so far, I have yet to understand how everything other than modeling works. :I Then there is texturing, bones, animation, Nliquids and ncloth. All that sweet jazz.
However, my bigger question, what would sell more? Cuz I wanna make commissions on either 2D animations or 3D modeling/animations.
So my pros and cons list for each are as follows:
2D Animations:
Pros:
1. Very versatile
2. Quick and and always have a certain 2D style tht 3D couldn't develop.
3. Can control every single item in the canvas for extra fun without any complexity.
4. Just looks really cool overall!
Cons:
1. I am one of those guys that can never finish coloring anything due to procrastination. (Maybe I'll get stuff done if I stream!)
2. I am very terrible at line art, no matter how many times I try.
3D animations:
Pros:
1. Here, I promise to go at a very high detail, almost realistic!
2. Sometimes, some of the new 3D stuff looks really sexy(Both sexual and artistic)
3. The Animations can be done SMOOTH as heck. 60fps, geeze, the usual animation is 24 fps :I
4. I actually feel like finishing a 3D model! NO MORE LEFTOVER STUFF BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SUCKY LINEART.
Cons:
1. Takes a very decent amount of time, just to create a model.
2. I have less than enough knowledge about the rest of program.
3. It may be expensive to just create a model, But you get free poses!
Tell me your opinions guys!
I also don't want any of that 3D is not good because its taking over 2D stuffs crap. I already know 3D animations are taking over, but heck, they look good anyways.
Overall, its a matter of preference. Tell me what you guys think!
-edit-
xD Guys, in case of another misunderstanding I will write down the intended question at the end:
what would YOU like to see ME do more of? xP

xD Guys, in case of another misunderstanding I will write down the intended question at the end:
what would YOU like to see ME do more of? xP
FA+

just look at 3DiNoZ
Also, that isn't the question I asked for. xP
I was asking which would want to see me do more of? Not if whatever medium is better. xP
If you are just working for yourself, you can do whichever you find the most rewarding. As a head of a team, or part of a production studio, you need to be flexible and find ways of expressing with both.
I mean, I really like Finding Nemo... but I tolerate to despise Toy Story visually.
I really hate the Simpsons, visually. However, I've enjoyed Felix the Cat. (I'm sorry. struggled to find a Superflat style reference)
Really, though, what it comes down to is style. While I have a *preference* for 2D work, I am willing to watch 3D work, and there are so many films that depend on both, in the end. So it's not *about* which animation is better. It's about which artist or house art style is more entertaining.
I just wanted to know what people wanted to see out of me haha.
Freestyle art man. ^^ I am no big guy yet, and if I am, I wouldn't be telling yo uany of this stuff. :P
I'll be honest xP Please answer my question, it has nothing to do which of the medium is better, it has somehting to do with what you guys prefer. I don't just want to have to end up ignoring you.
Just, knowledge of the process of putting together animated features is important when thinking about it as a career thing, ya know?
xD I am not saying which is better, I am saying what would YOU want to see from Me. xD
