Tracker's Thoughts and notes
This is a personal rant about my feelings. This may seem strange but I feel I often am getting subjected due to my sexuality. It cannot be denied that the fur fandom. Is by in by largely a gay community. Tho I have no problem with homosexality, I think due to the large consantration in one gathering or place. A trend has almost built up, that mocking someone for being hetrosexual is fine. I know that it's often grounded in good fun and I'm fine with it.

I am hetrosexual and have no intrest in taking part in homosexual acts. But do not have any issue to anyone who does)
But when it takes a step too far is when it becomes so often that it's blocking normal converasion with people. I also seem to end up taking about why am not gay, how I'll turn it. To down right should try it and then I can decide. Which I found a down right insult to me. If not to the to gay commuinty itself if your surgesting that I can "choose" to be gay. Then the argument of it's how I was born and I change change who I am inside that is often what most homosexual plea. Would be meaningless, it cannot be one case for homosexual and another for hetro.
The main reason I have felt the need to write this is probly the greatest I face and cannot simply ignore. That is constantly having the people. Jumping to conclusions of my preferances in females. Which in many peoples eyes seems to be ANY female. When as at a meet often it's many males talking to one another it's less obvious who is and who isn't intrested in one another. Where I cannot say I do like engading in light conversation with people of the oppisite sex to myself. I'm often looked appon as if the mear reson in to have a sexual interation with that person. Which may cause unjust rumors or slander to my name. If you also feel threaten by me being by someone you care or wish to pursue.
Then I suggest you take it up with me direct. I shouldn't really need to write this and I don't expect much to change but if you have read this and wonder to yourself have you joined this causal pratice to make fun of people such as myself.

As for people jumping to conclusions, have you considered whether you do anything to earn that reputation, rather than just everyone is out to get you?
I can, however, comment on how heterosexuals are a minority in the fandom, both in the statistical sense but also in the sense that everything that is talked about, joked about, referred to, drawn, etc. most of it relates to gay people. I don't know why liking anthropomorphic animals has gotten that connection with being gay, seems to me there is nothing to suggest either hetero- or homosexuality in anthropomorphic animals (nor why there are so many males). But it get s real old and real tiring after a very short while that it is all so one-tracked. I wish there was more room for multiplicity. Sure there are incredible amounts of room for certain things such as anything weird or fetish-like sexually, and for speaking up on how one was bullied as a child, how one used to be a victim, and what it's like to be gay. On the other hand, although it is not like you're muted for speaking about being straight, nevertheless it is not a topic I find discussed much. I guess I have the opposite experience of you actually, it is a topic which is never spoken about and when I raise it people quickly loose interest or it goes tumbling into jokes about how gay we all really are. Perhaps certain furs need to take their own medicine and try to be truly tolerant of everyone who's not like themselves?
When the first fur cons were advertised by their creators (two men I've met and heard the story) they were advertised in Homosexually themed magazines. I believe it had something to do with cost or that the two men in question were gay, forgot.
Either way word was spread around, and as most people talk to their "a-kin" in interest, basically one gay guy told another gay guy and he told another gay guy.
Also, with the fandom being so open, I find many people come in with a Bi=sexual attitude in "search" for themselves. Only recently have I seen the switch quickly changing to a hetro sexual interest group. (basically more straight folks showing up lol)
It would have been nice for more of a balanced society in terms of sexuality, this is true however. Fact is, in the persuit of ourselves here in the fandom, is not the overall, if not hidden goal intended to know one's self better to better know others of the world? To connect to not only self but others of same interest?
By nature we are social creatures bent on self expression and social connectivity...and that is the overall nature of what we, the Furries, aim to do...connect through our own self exploration and expression. So yes, having more straight folks to connect to would have its benefits to other straights. Till then I can be content in my gay friends ^_^~.

Yep the fandom is sex mad, just like when I went up to a dealer desk and picked up this rubber disk think WTY? "Thats what we make our products out of" said Mr Dealer. "Whats that?" Said me, "Dildos" Said the Dealer. Then I instantly dropped the rubber disk and said nothing more. Tho my last memory of RBW was Pinky holding one on her head and running around like a loony

Its unforetunate it hinders social interactions but eventually a tolerance will be built. that or you can simply confront these individuals spreading the rumors and put an end to it in some manner or another.
