Though strictly speaking they do not threaten you as they do not utter anything that legally could be considered a threat.

So that means someone can come onto your property, steal from you, and you dont have the legal right to defend yourself because they didn't say anything threatening?

If someone broke into my home i will shoot them in a instant. You have no idea if they have a gun or knife. We have a legal right to defend ourselves from a intruder.

Incorrect. If you have so much as a slim reason to believe that someone may be on your property for nefarious reasons, you're able to defend yourself and your property. Just last year, a couple kids came on to an older man's property and were going around his house and hitting it. He shot one of them, the other claimed they didn't do anything, but charges wouldn't stick in court, as it was found he was acting within the law.

Not really. Texas law doesn't require someone to make a verbal threat, it only requires that the inhabitants "reasonably believe(s) the force is immediately necessary to protect (themselves)", or to prevent a number of other crimes, as per the law. A perpetrator doesn't have to make a verbal threat, they only have to act in a threatening manner.

Then I'm proud of the German legal system.

That's horrible. But at the same time not really surprising sadly.

This ACTUALLY happened to me. No joke.
Both my dog AND cat disappeared in the same week, a couple days apart.
Found out later on that some people had been busted in my area for stealing peoples pets to sell them for medical testing and some others that were sold went to rituals.
At least that's what they reported. Our neighborhood is one that they admitted to hitting.

I wanna kill people like this... Ruined part of my childhood!

That's awful, but so is human trafficking, for that matter.

Still, I'd like to see some actual numbers on the amount taken and get a better estimate. I think if people do that, it would help raise awareness.

Sounds like another conspiracy theory to me, honestly. Not saying it never happens, but considering all the more likely theories of a pet going without a trace, the last thing you should be thinking when you lose a pet is "OH MY GOD, SOMEBODY STOLE MY CAT/DOG TO ILLEGALLY SELL IT ON THE MARKET FOR LABORATORY TESTING"

of course if your pet goes missing it doesnt automatically mean it was stolen. Accidents do happend and some pets just have a great urge to wander off.
But if several pets goes missing in a town/neighborhood in a short period of time one have to consider the possibility that someone may have stolen them.

I mainly think about that post as a tell to people who isent aware of such a thing even beeing a possibility. To make them aware that this does happend.
Not saying you should keep your dog or cat indoors at all time, just to be more aware.

i do have several smal animal skulls(replicia`s and victims of cat and old age) and a couple sea critters preserved on glass.
i would never hurt an animal but their anatomy fasinates me greatly.

Hmm, I'm suspecting this might've happened to my cat. One day he was walking happily around our yard, then the next day he was gone. Haven't seen him in over 2 years.

i dont think those where stolen pets though, but pets who had lost their owners or had been given away.

I see what your saying. But when there is talk of animal experimentation i cant help but think of that movie and the horrors of it all (which they show in detail)

I had a cat that would love to go outside, but I made sure that it whenever he went outside I was there to watch him. My dad on the other hand didn't care and would just open the door for him and leave him out there unattended. I would tell my dad over and over not to do that but he wouldn't stop and he would blame old age on forgetting (even though he's not that old) and one day my dear cat just vanished...

....I still hold a grudge against my dad for letting him out all the time without supervision because I honestly believe if he would have stopped and listened to me for one minute at least or maybe even think a little bit he would have figured out that it isn't safe out there for my cat....

I figured this was about the recent pet bans, which are probably even worse. If you catch someone stealing pets, there's legal recourse and action to be taken against them. If the government rules that your pets are illegal, there's action taken against you, and you'll have to foot the bill to murder them in some cases.

I remember there was a ban on snakes a while ago which required owners to pay the cost of "disposal", not sure how many others have done that. But it's more stuff like this that happens little by little, one area at a time.

Well it seemed like a serious problem to me, at least. Along with all the dog breed bans and other things like that.

i understand some pet bans, mainly venomous snakes/bugs, very high demanding exotic pets or dogs and cats breeds with severe health issues.
even so, i too feel angered about it.
Just think, sudenly they make a law that your current beloved pet is illegal thus have to be eliminated, why not simply require a permit or paper showing they are fully able and know how to handle their pet.

Yeah, that'd make sense, but it'd take work on part of the legislature, and for them it's much easier to just write a ban than solve any problems with bad pet owners.
