Try Again George

As it continues to fall on its face at the box office, I felt that I have to make some sort of comment about Happy Feet 2, simply because I was such a fan of the original Happy Feet.
What really strikes me about Happy Feet 2 is how much it reminds me of another sequel that George Miller directed, Babe: Pig in the City. Like that film, this new film is a visual tour-de-force. No doubt about it: After both Happy Feet movies and The Owls of Ga'Hoole, I can definitely say that Animal Logic are your go-to source for Texture Porn. But having said that, just like the second Babe movie, this new dancing penguin opus has a story line (if you can call it that) that's all over the map, so it winds up being really hard to recommend it. Watch it, but maybe wait for DVD so you can watch it with the sound turned down.

That's a damned fine phrase!
