Going Through a Phase

As soon as you read this I will have full control of your mind... now read my journal.
Today I decided to go up to my hidey hole in the attic and pull out some old art that hadn't seen the light of day for years. As I'm going through the stuff, there are some pics I got off of the internet that my parents would kill me for if they knew I still had them. So I smiled, and continued on to my old art...
And just about fell down the ladder. Now I remember why it hasn't seen the light of day for 5+ years. It's all shit and tracing. That's right. Tracing.
Back when I first got started, I bought a book entitled "Step-By-Step Manga" which was supposed to teach me how to do the basics and some pre arranged characters. So I cracked open the old book again and lo, there's the basics. So I decided to start over again for the hell of it. I do step 1: the match sticks; step 2: shaping; step 3: depth; and then I get to step 4.
Ahhh step 4. How I now remember why I HATED YOU SOOOOOOOOOO!!! /raeg
Step 3 was essentially basic shapes making up the human form. Step 4, however, was the damn finished product. It was like the author took his students out to a desert, dropped them out there with everything they'd need to survive for a week until help arrived, and said, "Good luck!" then drove away. IT'S MADDENING!
No wonder I went through that tracing phase all those years ago. "¬_¬
It would be nearly impossible for anyone in an introductory level physics course to be able to answer that question, in which case the teacher would need serious evaluation and more than likely a pink slip. Fo srs, yo.
