The Kittens, remember those guys? Help

The kittens that I posted all those lovely pictures of when they were babies and then my mother decided to keep them?
The little boy, Cass, got very sick today with a high fever. He is 11 weeks as of today. My mother (veterinarian) hopes it is just a bacteria infection from a bite or a scratch we can't find/see.
What she worries about is it could be feline AIDS or FIV. Which means we're shit out of luck plus his sister could have it too.
He was vaccinated for Distemper on Monday, his sister, Mia had an ouchie spot for a day then she was back to normal. My mother says he's still really young for him to have Feline AIDS appear, but the fever he's got says something is very wrong. He ate a little, drank a little, but not enough to stay hydrated.
Please send good vibes, they're just babies and I really don't want them to get sick and die...

It could be he is allergic to the distemper shot or having a reaction to it. I have friends who can not have flue shots because they react to it every time and get very ill. Also I have friends that are very allergic to other kinds of meds and shots and have violent reactions to them if they do get them. Cats and dog s are very similar to humans in this sense. Two of our cats even caught my aunts cold when she got to close to the when she was very sick. May the little guy get better soon. *wraps him gently in a warm blanket.*
May you have wonderful day despite the poor kitten! I always hate to see animals suffer in any way! You and yer mum are very awesome to care so for little critters such as he.
