I wonder if Square learned from the flop that was FFX-2. That was the last one i played. I could not get into any of the newer ones.

FF4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 are my favorites. Only thing that will actually be good with this game is the ost.

Personally I agree here, I quit after VII. Though Fen's gotten me hyped to try the later games I totally have lost interest. Might as well just move to making movies.

They did remember? The Souls Within and FFV: Legend of the crystals. Not to mention FVII Advent.

My point was to STOP making GAMES and ONLY make MOVIES. :D The cenimatics and storyline is what I perceive to be most sought after. :)

XIII had a lot of flashy stuff (lol @ Vanille's ass mark) that broke suspension of disbelief, but I really got into XII (like 4 playthroughs over the years).

Idk wtf happened in X-2, but I got bored and didn't finish it. Can't speak for either of the online games since I haven't played them, but the Dissidia games were quite epic. Tactics A2 is one of my favorite DS games too.

I realize that Squeenix has several Final Fantasy dev teams and so I view each of the games on an individual basis and I try not to let previous failures (*cough*DirgeofCerberus*cough*) color my opinion of future titles. They still have talent.

Wish they would release vs 13 already before 13-2. I wonder if 13-2 will be as linear as 13? Maybe I can hope that the party combat system isn't trash like the first one. The reaction cinematic system reminds me of games like Heavy Rain or Indigo Prophecy, and are a nice touch.

Despite my love of FF has dwindled over the years, I still plan to play this game. Might as well see if this can somewhat make up for XIII's constrained gameplay features.

You know the battle system in this game is gonna be the same as Kingdom Hearts 3

Versus XIII has the hack-and-slash system; XIII-2 has the same system as XIII albeit with new additions. It can get confusing (too many XIIIs).

I'm looking forward to Versus XIII, I wish they released that one as the main XIII game instead. Hopefully it will live up to its hype.

That's pretty and impressive, but... it looks like you're just getting to do a couple of fights during a movie. I hate games that do that. I either want to play a game or watch a movie, not watch a movie that's interrupted by my grabbing a controller and mashing some buttons for two minutes at random points.

I'm afraid I cannot participate further in any Final Fantasy Game anymore...pretty cinematics aside, FF XIII was horrifically linear, and it's battle system ridiculously over-simplified. Character growth, while at your decision, as to which branch to focus on, was similarly linear, and limited per chapter. I played all the way through, and, despite being a fan of every FF game, 1 through 10, I found my interest level waning as Squeenix tried ever harder to push the envelope. The license board? More like the grinding Board. I just feel the series has gone downhill, and focuses too much on prettyness, and not enough on story, and game "funness". Maybe I'm just getting old, but I think the quality is going down.

I'll play it simply because someone said it was better than the first game. Ehhh. I prefer Dragon Quest to FF now, and they had to go and make DQ10 an online game to potentially ruin that too...
