Concussion, from the Latin concutere ("to shake violently") or the Latin concussus ("action of striking together"), is the most common type of traumatic brain injury...
Forget brain injury, my chest hurts HELL of a lot more!!! >~<
Forgive my all caps rage. Just got off the bandages I was wearing for the weekend. Had an accident during the weekend which involved a steel barrel filled with cement mix making impact with me like one of those House of the Dead 4 scenarios...ugh...
It was a lot less painful when I first felt the blow. I guess it must have been serious though if I coughed up some blood. I was supposed to stay in bed the following day...but I got in trouble again for sneaking out without permission. Why don't parents understand that if I want to recover quickly is to get my body moving again, not hole in my room where no activity cripples my body. With the bandages finally removed, I can feel the pain a lit more now, but it's fading quickly enough for me to be allowed to attend class.
I guess when you look at it, there's a moral to this situation...
"When trying to keep your little sis from being hit with a large barrel, it's better to just carry her out of the way instead of blocking it with your body..."

"Back in my day, we didn't have those fancy-shmansy machines that built buildings in an hour or two. We built it with our bare hands, with all the hazards that came with it! I remember that one time I took a barrel to the chest when your little great aunt Isabelle almost got run over by it..."
