Xmas Holidays

It must be emphasized that:
We are not an official Church of Satan group. We are not here on behalf of the Church of Satan. We are not a "Satanic Community."
We are a group on FurAffinity that are made up of individuals who follow the Church of Satan and the works of Anton LaVey.
For this week's journal, I figured I go with a topic that is somewhat relevant.
That topic is the Xmas (and other variant) holidays. I'm mainly curious to see what the rest of you during this period, and how you feel about.
As for myself;
I feel that this time, like all times of the year, is pretty much the same as any other. The only difference is the mass shopping hysteria. Honestly, I like the sales (it means gift giving is a loooooot cheaper). And as for how others act... It all seems phony to me. I often hear the phrase "it's a joyous time of year, so everyone should act that way"
I often wear a fake smile myself, but when I see others do it purely for this holiday.. I dunno, it kinda gets annoying at times.
The one thing that I know I appreciate about this holiday season, is that my family and I get along a lot better than usual.
So, what about you guys and gals? Thoughts?

but I do love the lights...
It's going shopping with all the sales and picking things out and laughing at those stupid Black Friday stories where people pepper spray an entire line just to buy a T-shirt that says "Can't Touch This" on it, while feeling bad for employees that have to go through this shit.
It's cooking homemade pies and cakes and goodies and visiting family members and wishing them a Merry Christmas, and when it comes to Christmas Day, it's rushing downstairs with my siblings and laughing at the silly things and the cool things my mother had gotten for us for stocking stuffers waiting for our parents to wake up (it's tradition), and then putting food in the oven and watching each other open presents and watching grins split across their faces.
It's also the food we eat, because we have a much different tradition, we don't have Christmas Ham feast, we have all day food - we take appetizers and put them in trays and sort of graze on that all day. We have olives, small sweet pickles, vienna sausages, ramaki (mom's recipe - spiced chicken liver ground and wrapped in bacon <3), pot sickers/chicken dumplings....
And the bonus of not getting the post-Christmas blues because there's too much left over food and candy to be sad about it.
I feel as though I should only give gifts to the ones who deserve any gift from me. But this is never the case. Many of my family members don't agree with anything I do and treat me disrespectfully. But I still give them gifts because they are still my family. If they were not there in the first place, neither would I.
So, I wish to you happy holidays m'dear. Take care!
I just love the holidays so much. I never get sick of christians bitching about every instance "happy holidays" is used instead of merry christmas, you know even though they're supposed to be humble like their savior and turn the other cheek.
I hate the holidays and I'm sure most of my family does too, we just get together on the 24th to celebrate this shitty month coming to an end.
