Not suprised Wal-Mart is behind this. They are (excuse me, but) the biggest asses in the history of marketing corperations. First they say that everything they sell is American made, but it's not. Then they say that all their employees are treated equaly, but women and minorities acctually get payed less. There is a lawsuit that was recently dropped where a whole bunch of women tried to sue them. They dropped the case because too many women were making claims. Just to show you how bad Wal-Mart is.

Why in the world would Nintendo support it? That makes no sense. Don't they realize that if this passes all the sites that POPULARIZE their stuff will go down? Let's Plays have also made a LOT of people buy games. If this passes, we'll also have no choice but to go to Gamestop for all out games, and guess what's killing the industry WORSE than piracy? Gamestop reselling games! If they weren't allowed to resell games, the developers could sell the games for less, because EVERY COPY that ANYONE owns would come from THEM. They get NO cut from resold games. They should, but they don't.

It's horrible what they are doing. It doesn't make sense, and they are going against our first Amendment (Freedom of Speech)

I never would have thought that the reselling of games impacted the industry that much. o.o I'll take a deeper look into it.

If a single copy is sold for 60 bucks, then returned within...say...2 weeks, as some people do, then it's resold for 55...I have SEEN this at Gamestop. The publisher/developer makes 0 money off the reselling of that copy at 55 dollars. That is PURE PROFIT for Gamestop. They paid the person who traded it in perhaps half the price they resell for IF you're lucky. They also under-order. Ordering only enough to cover reserves sometimes, and others reserves plus 2-7 copies per store. That's not many games, right? Well they KNOW a quarter to a half of those come back a week later.

Also, they've acquired other stores some times, and ordered all games of old systems like the NES and such DESTROYED, not sold, not kept, trashed. They've sued workers who tried to preserve the games, had them arrested for stealing company property even if they put 50 bucks per game up for it beforehand. Gamestop is a horrible company. The only reason I shop there is because the staff are so nice and it's SO much closer than any alternative shops.

I only wish the staff at my local Gamestop were nicer. If you are just there to browse, they all glare at you until you leave, which is creepy. I played one of those PS3s on display and I could see them watching me through the TV screen that faced them. The supervisor there doesn't give a damn about anything going on in there either.
