You know, I wake up every morning wondering the same thing. Why does it matter? Everybody strives for money, so I ask why? Money can be exchanged for amterial goods, goods that have a purpose that is tangible. Money is worthless, in and of itself. So why does everyone and everything revolve around the acquisition of it? Why does the insignifigance of currency mar every holy, meaningful tradition out there? The answer, of course, is to get these goods that make people happy. Or, at least, distract them. But take this all from a view completely seperate from yourself. People kill and are killed, are brought to starvation and disease, and are cut off from their well-being, all for the sake of someone having enough to distract themselves from the fact that they might die in the next minute. Consider how long the universe has been around, how big it is, and how small we are compared to it. We have the lives that are like those of flies, and we play a game, wasting what little time we are given. We are just one more speck of life in a universe that is most likely full of it. And I am just a speck on that speck of life. And I force myself to be satisfied with that, with my greatest hope being just another name that will be written in the history books, and forgotten with the next generation of flies. And as for emotional ties, there is no meaning there, either. People come and go, and if you spend your whole life knowing and caring for just one person, you've wasted your life. So I ask you, since there is no meaning in material things, no meaning in emotional things, and no meaning in accomplishment, what meaning is there? I have an answer, but I want to see what you will say.

Alright then, I'm no good at philosophy but I'll put my opinion out there. I believe that there's meaning in life itself. Without life, there's no existence. Everything you experience, from your material possessions to your interpersonal relationships is dependent on your life. Granted, life will end eventually, but until then every moment is precious, and without life there's no way to grab those moments.
