I just recently finished reading Dirt City, and it was fucking awesome. Definitely on my top 5 list, now. c:

It's a more modern version of the story of little red riding hood, and it's really well-written.

the hunger games series is great, any book series by rick riordan are just amazing(mainly bases around greek/roman mythology), the warriors series by erin is pretty good, though its really really long. when i get back from this ski trip i'll look at my other booksssssssss C:

I sorta already have... ALL the Warriors books, in real form XD I love those damn kitty books.

The Twelve Kingdoms is great, it starts off in modern day Japan, then becomes a fantasy-like ancient China with talking animals that can shift into humans, kirin (Chinese unicorns), tigers and wolves that can fly, adventure, drama, action, love, etc. the author is Fuyumi Ono and was translated to English. I possess all the books in English at present and if you can't find it on Kindle you could also try your local Books-a-million.

Now if you want a twist on an old fairy tale, specifically Peter Pan, and like dark, don't mind a bit of curse words said every so often by a character then The Child Thief, by BROM. It is one of the greats written things I've read in a while.

Bartamaus trilogy

I have the Bartamaus trilogy, soooo good!! I still need to get the prelude sorta thing though.

Oh man, if you liked the Bartameus Trilogy then you would probably like the other ones I listed. They are all pretty easy reads and very good, especially the Abhorsen saga. It's one of the few where the books get better as the series goes along. I'd also recommend the Eragon (Inheritance) series which is excellent if you haven't read it... especially since the last book finally came out a few weeks ago (I need to re-read the first three since it's been years and I've forgotten so much!) umm.. it may sound lame from the title, but Mary Stanton's "The Heavenly Horse from the Outermost West" and the sequel "Piper at the Gate" are two of the best fantasy/talking animal books I've read. Really good stuff.

I'll have to keep an eye out to see if anyone gives any ideas of books I haven't read since I've been looking for something new. Nothing like finding a nice book to curl up with =D

tried the Inheritence series yet? I just finished the 3rd book and loved it. I also reccomend Dog On It, and the other books in that series.

I recommend "Storm Front" the first book in the Dresden Files series. I recommend the series, but you kinda need to read Storm Front, first.
