Will you please use :iconuser: instead of :usericon:?!

"So I was with [icon] and [some other icon] and we agreed that [another picture you don't recognize] is totally the best artist ever. Oh, and [wtf who]."
Why are people using the code to display a user's icon without their name so much? When I'm reading these journals, I have no idea how to parse these images into the sentence structure. I just read it as "So I was with [blah] and [blah] who said that [who the fuck are you talking about?!]...". Yes, I can mouse over the icon to find out who you're talking about, but I don't read with my mouse. It turns them into incomplete sentences where you have to mouse over parts to read the missing fragments. What's worse, people change their icons, so you might be talking about somebody I know, but I might not recognize their icon.
Seriously, this makes journals and descriptions annoying, slapping an image in place of a name instead of including the name with the icon. Remember... :iconusername: puts an icon AND a name so people will know who
is without interrupting the sentence. In addition, if you don't want an icon at all, :linkusername: will just link the username without the icon. Like this: ferretwilliams

FA+

but i agree names would be nicer than just a picture because a lot of people use that same image sometimes
it is supposed to be:
[ url= user url ] user name [ / url ]
minus the spaces and using an actual url for a user
usernameicon does have its place, and those kissy(or in your case dancy) icons are an acceptable usage imo.
Also I would think IMO that the whole panning mouse thing does not work for users on phones and other devices w/o a mouse I use a phone almost daily to check journals and messages and it is a pain to load a page and then click to see who they are talking about especially if they still have no icon or use a common icon, or change their icon a lot, then change back to the journal/submission and loose track
My point is that it interrupts the flow of a sentence, and until I find out who the icon is for, I just read it as "blah", and I don't often check the name because I'm more interested in reading the sentence to see the journal is even worth reading.
The touchscreen devices concern is just a side note.
