Well Happy Birthday to me
Technically it's on the 11th, but here's why this is going up now; shortly before Christmas, my old gaming laptop started to fail, so it got shipped to Dell. It was a pretty nice laptop, and I had a really good hardware warranty on it (which had completely paid for itself and possibly the entire computer already). They were back-ordered on some of the parts... then they got them, and found ANOTHER part that they had to replace, also back-ordered.
So they decided to instead give me a brand new open-box (never used, but box was opened so they couldn't sell it as new) XPS 15Z to replace my old XPS 1530. Free. As in, I got a brand new computer worth ~$1000 without paying a dime. Not for shipping, not for handling, not for repairs, not a penny.
People complain about Dell's breaking, but as long as you get something good enough to be worth putting a warranty on, their customer service is top notch (at least in my experience).
So thank you Dell, thank you for a sweet birthday present.
