Curious, what was the main reason for changing hotels anyhow?

We didn't like the way the hotel was treating us OR our attendees. Stephanie Corro, our hotel rep, resigned from her position due to how the hotel was treating us and our fellow furries. In addition, the hotel raised the rates on us by conveniently overlooking a discount that was offered to us after she departed. We were already in the red, and it pushed it further.

We were given a contract for 2012 to host FAU5 there -- and it was a solid contract. But we felt the hotel didn't have our best interests in mind, and that of our attendees. So we opted to look for a better hotel.

The Hanover Marriott actually sought us out, and invited us to come host FAU5 with them. We were rather impressed by that offer, as we had a rather solid reputation and standing with the Marriotts we hosted at before. So we accepted their offer.

Interestingly, Stephanie moved over to the Crowne Plaza in Philadelphia, which just happened to be one of Anthrocon's former overflow hotels. They offered us a contract to go there as well, but they didn't have enough meeting space to really make things work out.

That,s a shame. If FAU was at the Crowne Plaza, I could throw stones at it from my back yard.

Looking forward to this con! I know the area like the back of my hand (Only live 30 minutes south of it!). Can't wait to put in my time off request and get a room reserved.

I'm so excited! With it being in August, I can take my nephews and we can stay through Monday because they won't have school!!! ^_^ Ah, but is there a way to get there by means of public transportation or taxi?

That's something we're looking into.

Oh, thank you! So far, I can tell that if you're coming from the New York City area, you can take NJ Transit which will get you within 4 miles of the hotel, but from there, it looks like you'd have to take a taxi. That's all I can sort out right now. I hope this helps a little.

This is awesome. My dad is a Marriott Platinum Elite member with all the traveling he does for work, and so I can use his status to get an awesome room for me and my friends! :D
