As far as I've been seeing, you art is really awesome! I don't foresee any reason to close up shop just yet.

yeah, but i haven't gotten commissions, for the lack of begging.. And I never really cared. But I was offering commissions for like 1.50. And got no takers. So. I was just discouraged.

but you also have to add in that most people dont read journals... i see more and more artists use submissions instead... mark as adult and more people will click sadly

:-< I'm more likely to see a journal than a submission. All I usually do here is read journals, notes, shouts, and comments. Also +Watch people. The submissions I do look at are in the galleries and favorites of the profiles I click on. I rarely look at anything else on here. I'm here mainly for meet and stream announcements, as well as other journals that look interesting.

i read occasional journals but i dont open every submission either... but sadly you post a journal and not every single person will read it. its kind of annoying... especially when youre trying to get opinions >_<

Well, I get enough views of journals, and for meets, I also submit them to the local state groups, and I get a good number of people to attend that way.

im living between two locations and i kind of dont like most furs in this state

I'm the only one in my town, but that is how New Hampshire is. We have to travel for meets, which is why I have them here and in Massachusetts, as well, and I attend meets all over New England.

yeah.. im in indiana, close to chicago... or close to indy depending on where i am at the time. most of the meets are either in west lafayette (an hour-2 hours away) or indy (2 hours-30mins away depending on where i am)

I go to meets over three hours away! Though I really like the ones under two hours away.

yeah but no job = no money = no gas... >_< so its a little hard. i really wish we had a meetup.com page for it but thats 12 bucks a month >_<

id rather not.. i dont plan on where i am at a time. if i wanted to i could take off tomorrow and come back 3 weeks later or so... or whenever i get bored of being in one place >_< and two different houses, ones my parents, the other is my boyfriends dads... and my parents are looking to move soon and my boyfriend and i are looking for our own place (again)...

You'll need a job sometime, otherwise how can you afford your own place?

i know i need a job.. but having a stable place of residence is kind of needed before a job sadly... or schooling

i honestly dont know why ya dont get to many commissions i see people who offer commissions with same or less quality ya do an still get commissions :/ so idk what ya should do

I know I used to offer less, but atm I have no job, so had to raise them slightly. but still, I work really hard. I have seen crayon commissions, and they get more. :/

eh guess it cause they might have plenty of friends who do quite afew journals to pimp them out or has highly thought of artist friends or that cause of the lower quality an less time to make them giving them more post makes them more apealing in a sense to quite afew people

Girl don't make me smack you! Lol your art is wonderful! Gotta get your name out there more I think that will help commissions. That and not many have the money currently to spend on artwork like everyone else has said. I would have gotten waaaaay more done by your if I had the spare scratch. It has absolutely nothing do to with your drawing skills. I would advertise a little more have some friends send some love out for ya, put a lil ad out at Teenycom it is a little commission page on Live Journal. I just started taking commissions but have been stalking there for a while and some do good some don't but I wouldn't take it personal. I haven't had anyone commission me from there yet but I have had 2 commission here. If anything you could always ask the person if they don't mind posting it as well to help advertise. I also draw and fully colour things and put them on FurBuy for a $5.00-10.00 start bid. I remember getting about $70.00 for one piece alone. Doesn't always work and I would keep an eye to get a feel to what people like and what sells but if you don't try it won't go anywhere. Just like commissions if you don't whore yourself out you will never make any money. Just try to keep options open and ask a few well known artists how they go about doing things. Just have to quit beating yourself up so hard hon.
