I'm stuck in an artblock too, join me in some way of breaking it?

I got no clue. I've been drifting in and out of art block for about 2 years now. Mostly in it. Think I'm just declining overall and don't know how to stop it.

I play this flash game on gaiaonline called Draw my thing, you get 30 seconds and a random word of phrase that you have to draw pictures to in order for people to guess the word. Very care free and fun and really helps build that "Fuck the art block, I'm drawing" reflex. (requires gaiaonline.com account)

pick your settings and click the "Get Drawing" button to start a series of photos that you do fast gesture drawings to. This one is nice and simple since you can draw with pen and paper at your desk, I suggest fast turn-over times to keep yourself from focusing too hard on any one drawing, gesture drawing isn't something to finish and detail, its drawing a simplistic idea so I'd say 30-45 seconds and who knows, you might find a photo in the slideshow you really like and get some inspiration for.

Another thing I do when in a drawing rut is head over to youtube and watch some good quality speed drawing of painting videos. and have very nice speed drawing channels.

Ah, thanks for the suggestions! I particularly have never got the hang of the whole gesture thing, and my art really suffers from it x_x I'll definitely try that.

Usually when I start blocking up, I try and draw more for myself, or draw things I've always wanted to draw. Or just drown myself in awesome music until inspiration strikes me |D

I was told once to try drawing the artblock itself, and making it look silly or something. might try it.

Try drawing something that you don't normally draw or don't draw that often...
Or try drawing a Meme... That has helped me a few times...

Inspiration isn't the problem, it's execution. :/

Tried drawing simple weather? I think the best way to go is to start doing something simple and quick and see if that helps. Otherwise, see what you can draw based on how music makes you feel.

I listen to music to help me, my fave songs or powerful stuff. I watch movies and get inspired in that or involve myself in a fandom I like. Or give it a rest for a while and then come back and draw something. Sometimes I can draw myself out trying to get rid of artblock.

Go to and classic art museum with pencil and paper, and sketch "things" or to a flower garden, get out of your comfort area and experiment...it really improves your style..by exercising it!.
