well, we've been dating for 3 years, and been living together for like... 2,5 years :D

lol. same here, though we live 800 miles apart. :P proposing is something i won't consider until after living together for awhile.

Used to have a long-distance relationship. that has nothing to do with what the real deal is... livign together and getting accustomed to each other - now that's what I'm talking about :) I hope you'll get there.

umm.... living together and apart can be completely different..... like what comes to my mind is i love hanging with all my friends.... but if you spend a long time together you start to get annoyed of one another. i figure the same applies to a relationship. idk if i love her so much because of our relationship, or if that'd change if i had to live with it 24/7 for say a few months. it could be very possible that changes would have to be made at that point. don't get me wrong, i want it to happen, but i'm in no rush for it. i'm still only 18 after all. :P we have our whole lives to plan.

that's the point. You can never be sure of it, till you lift it up to an actual relationship-level. Long-distance relationships - no matter how intimate and pink they are - are just not enough for that.

yup. T'is a relationship, I'm sure... but in cases like this one, you can never be sure of anything...a lot of things changes when it comes "real" or "short-distance" XD. I've been there, you can't avoid it...it either becomes more awesoem, or turns out that you are not meant to be together. simple as that.

isn't that ALL relationships?... including friendships as well? kinda common nature that the more you spend time with people, the more you'll either grow to like them or despise them.

that's the beauty of it all. It's part of our human nature. Just pointing it out that every realtionship is subject to this concept, and no matter how pink you feel, yours is not an exception.

Because people jump into relationships as well as marriages with no effort to know their partner whatsoever. it's not just America..apart from countries where marriages are "arranged" and by culture "cannot end" it's a common fact.

i look at the way people date and see obviously why. i mean i'm as perverted as the next guy, but i don't "love" for looks and i don't base a relationship on the sexual aspects of it. i'm happy that i can play xbox with my girl and us be perfectly happy than have a girl who couldn't stand it and take it as "i'm ignoring her." no one realizes that if you like someone for the person they really are, regardless of how they look, they'll always truly be beautiful to you.

my gf is no where near model sexy or movie star quality, she's far from it. yet, for some strange reason i love how she looks... not anyone else her size or skin color, just her.... i guess that's how i realized it. >///>;

by real I am not referring to its actual existence... But as I told you. until it becomes a non-distance-relationship, you can never know if it works or not. Msn, skype and the telephone will not make it non-distance. Until you meet on a daily basis, become acticve components of each other's physical lives, or even live together, you cannot know for sure.
