Tips for GIMP
It's been a few weeks since I downloaded GIMP and began using it.
So far I've learned some nice tips.
1. Layers are you friend. Since I hand draw my sketches, I scan them, create a layer for ink, then delete the sketch after inking, then create a layer for base color, then layers for shadowing.
2. save files in GIMP's native xfc file type, and then when done switch to jpeg or png as GIMP can't save layers in any other format except xcf.
Other than that, you saw my first piece completed on GIMP with Whimsy. There will be more to come. I plan to convert all sketches to full color art in time.
