Its super annoying because they are no better than anyone else. I mean if you were to sit with one of them on a bus odds are you wouldn't even know because they are just average people. So they draw and people buy art from them thats no reason to think you're a god and everyone defends the popufurs because they want to kiss up so they have a chance to get free art or be a popufur friend so they get popular by association. Its sad really :/

I know a few of these and it's very annoying one of them even to the point that his pack treats him like he's their god. He has a pretty big following that only feeds his ego.... funny thing is though, the bigger the ego and the more opinionated they get the easier they are to troll.

I just wish some people would be more grateful of what they have. XD Being popular and talented shouldn't mean you get to act like an arse and still get worshiped.

It is true, there are a lot of non-popular furs who have large egos. Of course, there, it is even less warranted. However, this is more aimed at people who are very talented with their art. When I watch them, it is because they are good artists. But their arrogance is rather annoying. However, when I watch other people who aren't the best artists, it is usually because I like them as people, so I don't really watch many unpopular furs that have huge egos. Therefore, for me, this is a larger problem with those that are popular. Hope that makes sense.

Not everyone is cut from the same cloth of moral designs. What you may find arrogant or offensive may be mundane to them and their peers. If you don't know them personally, then I wouldn't really worry about their opinions so much to get upset about. That's just like Americans obsession over the lives of celebrities like it really impacts themselves.

If you disagree with something, you have two choices, take a stand against it and express your opinion, or don't take part in it if you know it's not worth the effort to get involved with. It's the idea that people have to rush onto the internet to correct someone that they believe is wrong. Unless you're doing it to help the person or better yourself, you're not accomplishing anything other than getting on people's nerves or even hurting someone's feelings. It's the idea that everyone on the internet is important. What you see as ego from popular people is nothing more than a transpired jealous or even projections of your own views. You yourself can be seen as egotistical from someone else by complaining about others. It gives the sense that you yourself are entitled enough to question others. Making the thing you fight against the very thing you're pulling off yourself.

All in all, just go with the flow. If you feel you must defend yourself from people you will never meet, in real life, on a plane that no one usually ever physically interacts or directly influences your life, then go for it, but all you will do is cause more head/heart ache for yourself. It's a rainbow of opinions, People don't make themselves popular, the followers who share the same mentalities of them are the ones who do.

(also, I could honestly respond better if you gave more specific examples. Popufurs is such an undefined term, it could mean anyone who has fans.)

Firstly, I didn't mention any specific examples, because that is exactly what I am against. I am not calling anyone out specifically. I am not confronting anyone. This is my personal journal, where I can complain about things that bother me. Does it bother me that some people believe that because they are good artists that are popular that they should be able to consider themselves above others? Damn straight. I am sorry if my opinion bothers you, but I am not calling anyone out. This is just me expressing my opinion and commenting on something that bothered me. Perhaps you should not be so quick to assume that I am making such a big deal about this. It was just one journal with no one specifically mentioned. I honestly don't care an extreme amount, just enough for it to be annoying. Also, I don't watch popufurs because they are popular, but onlyu if they have good artwork. Therefore, your comparison to celebrities is meaningless to me.

It's the tale of whoever is the loudest to express their opinions. Just when they're popular, more people are there to listen. But more than likely, they had that ego before. That was my point. It's not the popular that are egotistical because of their status, they were like that before, they just have a larger audience to listen to them now.

I know this. I don't know if you read my convo with ratchet there, but I said as much. The reason it bugs me with popular artists isn't because they are they only ones that have egos. It is simply that I watch people for two different reasons. I either like their art, or I like them as a person. Because I don't really like people with 'holier than thou' attitudes, I don't get egos from them. I do get it from a few artists though, that think they are hot stuff.

Same point as before. I don't ignore it from other people I watch, I simply don't watch others that have obnoxious attitudes. It isn't a double standard. Also, once again you are implying things about me when you honestly barely know me. First it was that I am 'one of those people' who take the internet too seriously and implying that I am arrogant for complaining about something that bothers me. (btw, saying something isn't something as a disclaimer usually means that it actually is. For example, 'I'm not racist, but-' )And now, you are implying that I am jealous and insecure. Projection maybe? XD I know that I am not as great an artist as you and others, so I am fine with the amount of attention I get. The only thing I might be jealous of is the artistic ability in and of itself. Beyond that, I really don't care. And by jealous, I don't mean envious.

People who are good artists have my respect for that, as I know they put a lot of work into it. But having my respect for art is different from having my respect as a human being, and in the end, being a good human being is more important to me. Do I have my own values that I think humans should have? Of course I do, we all do. I think mine are all fair, though. Simple matters of respect and professionalism, especially with people you don't know. Is that too much to expect from people?

He's making them because you make it a point of disliking them in particular. Going out of your way to tell people, namely a crowd of people you want to let hear you, makes it a bit of a moot point to even accuse other "Popufurs" to be egotistical. And why you don't like them.

As far as what you've stated up at the top, you basically say you don't watch them because they're popular. You're wouldn't judge them on their professionalism, because you're not looking at their art, you're looking at the fact that they have legions of fans, which is obvious grounds for resentment in your eyes. That alone points out a bit of jealousy.

Also, it's not the first time you've said you dislike "popufurs" either. Take note that we're stating what we're noticing.

When else have I said I dislike popufurs? And if you read my discussion with Ro, or if you had some reading comprehension while reading the actual journal, you would understand that this is not about all popufurs. Notice it says, 'with huge egos' The reason I only mention popufurs? Because of all the people I watch, they are the only ones with huge egos. (though I am actually only referring to just one or two, but I don't like singling out people because I think that is bitchy)

I don't mind that they have a lot of supporters/fans. That is fine. But they use them in order to feed their ego and sense of self-worth. Honestly, I hardly thought anyone would read this at all. My previous journal was wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and New Year, and thanking people for their support, and the two replies were from Jorge and someone who noticed I was in Brazil.

Also, this is like seriously the first time you have ever spoken to me. I wanted to be friends with you because you are friends with Jorge, but calling someone jealous in a public forum is not a good way to start a friendship.

So, please, understand this. I only wrote it about popufurs in general because I didn't want to call out specific people. If I said furries with dumb anime styles, I would only be obviously referring to the ones with those styles. Not all furries. (not that I have anything against that. I rather like it) I do not care that they have fans. I am completely fine with that. But using your fans to make other people feel bad is terrible. You want to know what case I am talking about?
