FurtherConfusion Wrap-Up
General
FurtherConfusion 2012 was pretty amazing this year! Thank you to everyone who came by the table to say hi or to pick up some prints, or placed a bid in the art show! Also a big thanks to everyone who grabbed a copy of Nordguard: Across Thin Ice! :]
I really like the new venue, especially the added space the convention center provides. The staff of the Marriott and the FC convention staff were all friendly and helpful, and thank you to everyone who volunteered their time toward FurCon! I'm looking forward to returning next year!
I've been waiting for the last few months for it's release, so I was happy to pick up a copy of Mitti's new comic Peachy Keen, which I highly recommend! The artwork is really charming, as is the story. In a nutshell, it's a YA (Young Adult) coming-out story of two girls set in 1955, but you can find more information (and a few pages,) up here!
Help Save Hyenas
A friend of ours, who works with at a Berkley facility researching hyenas, informed us that they had their funding cut a few weeks ago. As such, they will begin euthanizing animals when the last of the funds have dried up. Our friend and a few other people are currently racing against the clock to move the remaining twenty animals to zoos or sanctuaries (three will be going to the Oakland zoo later this week.) They are taking donations to keep the hyenas fed until all of them can find homes. You can find more information at hyenasanctuary.tumblr.com, or follow @HyenaSanctuary on Twitter, to stay tuned as things develop or see what you can do to help!

I'm a little loath to leave the nice California weather and return to the bitter Coloradan cold, so I'll probably pick my way back slowly over the next few days. When I do finally get back, full-time work on the second Nordguard book will recommence. I suspect I'll be up and LiveStreaming as I paint pages in Feburary, so if you're interested, keep an eye on my Twitter accounts, @screwbald and @nordguard for LiveStream updates!
The next year should be pretty exciting, as there's a couple other projects in the works. Most notably is the official Nordguard card game, developed by avid table-top gamer and friend, Tempo, and DarkDragon, and designed by Chromamancer. They've been play testing for a year, and it's been honed down to as near perfection as you can ask (and it's crazy fun!) We'll be doing some original artwork for the card game this spring, and if all things go as planned, the initial decks should be available at AnthroCon from Sofawolf Press! More information on that later this spring!
I hope everyone had as wonderful FurtherConfusion as we did, and a great start to the new year!
Cheers,
-Blotch

FA+

:D?
by the way, love your art style and wish I could get copy of it...*saves up every penny*
I highly doubt it, as the molecular integrity of a breast is highly different from the compound of a card game, ergo it would be impossible for the card game and breast to be a single entity [/Sheldon]

Haha you were making a southpark reference, and I was making a big bang theory reference! And that vid is pretty good.

Hope to see you at the next meet soon and get some business going
Can't wait to see you two at AC =]
Until next time, Raven queen.
Also, thanks for not out-bidding Enzo on that Trish pic. Its his first con and I think the art has got him hooked for quite a while.
I'm sad i missed FC this year (yeah, that california weather sure would be nice!) sounds like everyone had a blast. Hope you get some rest, i bet you need it after a great weekend of sleepless awesomeness :D
Anyways, was great to get to chat and buy and stuff lol
2. ECMajor seemed to be getting some good feedback on his journal about the Hyena's. Hopefully it will lead someplace and help save them. :< (This is the most important part of the comment.)
3. I'm really hoping this is a more general rated cardgame. Not to be a massive wet blanket, but the concept of "Furoticon" really irks me for several reasons, namely because it focuses solely on the adult aspect of the fandom and that it can portray us as having one tracked minds etc. (as in, we have to bring that kind of content to even what could be an otherwise general audience game we could.. you know, present to the public as angame + art showcase. :x But I won't get on any soapboxes here.
It has some perceived violence (there are guns and stuff) -- but I'd still only call it "PG" or "PG-13" at the very most.
One of
So nothing like Furoticon in that sense. This is something you could let your friends and family see.
And as for "guns and stuff"... you won't hear any complaints from me about that.
Even mild or suggested violence is fine as that is somewhat universal and won't continue the stereotype of the fandom being sex driven.
Granted, I may be biased because in the classic RPG Rifts my last character was a coalition Dog Boy... so essentially an anthro canine soldier with a rifle. :x
Where can I go to stay updated and such?
I'm sure Tempo, Blotch, and Chroma will do the same thing.
There are dangerous situations, and you can "lose" by running out of time. But there's no character death spelled out.
I think when
Keep up the great art! :)
Thanks for helping to spread the word!
I work for a bank and get advantageous currency-exchange facilities. If anyone wishes (and trusts me enough) to donate money in pounds, euros or Swiss francs then I am happy to accept them, convert them to dollars at the mid-market rate, and aggregate them in payment to the Hyena Sanctuary by whatever transfer medium the place's administrator can accept.
But hey, glad to see that ya' guys are getting even more mediums for your artwork. Hopefully it won't be bad like misc. furry games that have came out over the years, and maybe you'll get to hear stories of people going outta the way to find others to play it 'cause it's good.
It was nice to see you two in the dealer's den, and your work in the art show.
Getting to see the originals of Northgard and how you went about making it in the workshop was cool.
You are amazingly pro at staying available an jovial even though it must get extremely tiring to deal with fans. I respect you more for that. I can't stand pompous people :P Ah and about the underwear thing, check
Au plaisir! :3
Hope to see you again sometime, maybe at RMFC?
With all the followers you have here, may I suggest you do a separate journal? The comments about helping the hyenas in this one get somewhat lost if people aren't interested in FC updates. :3
