I have met the most wonderful person in the world...
This is my first movie review. I'm going to try and do one a week. Every Sunday, I'll try to remember to review a different movie. This week I will be reviewing The Departed. I shall review six different aspects: the actors, the plot, the graphics, the music, the furryness, and my overall thoughts.
The Actors - The actors in this movie did a great job of portraying their characters. When a character was meant to seem crazy, actor made it seem like the actor was crazy. Overall, the actors did a nice job showing the different range of emotions that their characters were supposed to be showing.
The Plot - The plot was a good one. An undercover cop tries to bust a big shot criminal, who had a rat in the cops base. I enjoyed watching the two of them practically disrupt everything each other did. The plot thickened as other things got in the way, such as a woman and gunmen.
The Graphics - The graphics for this movie consisted of blood and brains being blown out. They did a nice job of showing it as well. Of course it seems that people have really good aim in split second situations. Besides that, the blood looked real enough for a comedy/action movie.
The Music - I enjoyed the Irish rock music that they put in the movie. It definitely brought out the characters' Irish backgrounds. The music, as always, completely set the mood for the movie. My compliments to whoever chose the music.
The Furryness - This movie did a good job of dealing with the furry in everyone. The main criminal loved to draw and what else would he draw but...RATS!!! The director mostly put this in to represent all of the rats that the movie had. At least they had some furryness in the movie. More than in most movies.
Overall Thoughts - I enjoyed the movie until the ending, which was just freakin' crazy. The movie kept my interest although it was a strange movie. I do recommend seeing this movie if you can. The movie is a weird combination of action and comedy that somehow works. And the huge twist at the end was definitely an odd one.
