NaNo Novel: Here Falls The Thunder
Am I the only one who isn't going to giving Nek0 Gami congrats for some sucker willing to give up 3k(!!!) for a piece of his art?!
Honestly, I have nothing against the guy as an artist, his has a nice style (even if the content often doesn't float my boat...) but for the love of god, who in their right mind is willing to shell out 3k for a piece of paper with some art on it. There are nooooooo artists on FA worth that kinda cash.
But then I've been kinda biased against NG for the fact his comission rates are almost ten times what other artists are willing to do. Ususally the money you charge is based on the cost of materials and labor. But since when is a range from 150 to 250 bucks actually based on your time or effort?
I'm sorry, no matter how good your art is, I won't ever pay that much money. For that much cash I could get 4 color pieces from several artists of equal quality, or at least comparable quality. Why would you choose to charge that much to begin with? Because you know people will want it badly enough that they'll pay that much? If so, that seems kinda underhanded. If it's too discourage people from spamming for comissions, than do what every other artist does.
Make a comission list. Accept only so many at a time. I don't see the need to charge up to a third of a person's paycheck for a piece of art, of which they'll likely never see the print of.

FA+

He makes a living doing this so just be happy he doesnt go around rubbing it in peoples faces. Your taking your opinions way too far now Sweetie.
You have a strong opinion and that one of the things i love about you, but dont display it here where it will only get you in trouble Ok.
*kisses* You know i wouldnt say anything unless I felt something bad was going to happen.
Heck, if it was my art they wanted to pay 3k for, I'm not sure I'd accept that kinda offer!
I'm not flinging crap, I'm just gawking at the result.
But hey, if they're willing to pay that much it's really up to them. You know?
Nobody tricked anyone else, Nekogami is not doing anything wrong. I just hope a picture is worth that much to the guy!
I guess some people really do have more money then they know what to do with. *shrug*
If he was featured in every art magazine in the country, maybe...and that's even if he use traditional media...but this digital shit isn't worth a God damn.
THANK YOU. *Bear hugs so hard you think your head's going to pop off.*
