Amusing thoughts.

So, to bump the meme off my page and to get a few things off my mind, here's a few things that have been bugging me as of late. If you're sensitive to rantings and will cause a shit storm of drama, best to turn around now.
Anyway, it seems, to me at least, that the level of intelligence in this fandom, perhaps in humanity in it's entirety, is somewhat dwindling. Nearly everyone that I talk to these days always fret about shit that really doesn't matter in the long run of things; even I'm not exempt from this. I mean, does it really matter how popular a character is or how amazing someone draws? Shouldn't you like a person for the simple fact that they're fun to talk to and you enjoy their company? It really is just an added bonus that they have a degree of talent in some things, and, yeah, it's great that they can make a somewhat decent living off of it. That's epic. But does it really warrant people worshiping them like a god or goddess, just on the off chance they may draw your character? I just don't get it... they eat, shit, breath, and make mistakes like we all do. No need to set them up on a pedestal and treat them as if they were Zeus. Now, recognizing their talent? Hell yeah. All for that... but just don't make them your own personal Jesus. It is, in my opinion, a clear example of your lack of braincells and shows your true motives.
Secondly, characters. Now... I love designing characters, both for myself and other people. One thing I've noticed, though, is that no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, you'll -always- be influenced by another character, object, feeling, etc. I used to run myself ragged trying to figure out how I could make my characters not be like other peoples, but the realization was that I can't. Everyone is inspired by different designs and will strive to have that same level of amazing detail in their character, whether or not it's a near direct copy or a finely crafted, subtle spin on the same idea. This bit is just idle musings, so... yeah.
Thirdly, masters/mistresses and pets/slaves. I used to be embedded in this kind of thing; it was in nearly every RP I was in. But the more I played it with whomever was my owner or pet, I began to realize that it's pretty much all a joke. No offense to anyone who adores this kind of thing and does it, but in all honesty, it just doesn't work. Something will -always- get in the way of the pet and their master/mistress, be it a lover, another pet, or even the mistress/master's owner. The fact of the matter is, is that I see it as a vicious cycle of drama that only serves to bitter people towards each other. Because the minute the master/mistress takes another pet under their wing and shows even the slightest bit more affection for their newly acquired minion, the other will get increasingly jealous and act out in ways beyond retardation. I'm sure there's some people out there who do this and don't let it get the best of them and all and kudos to them, but, to me, the system as a whole is remarkably dysfunctional.
And that's it for now. Couldn't think of a way to just get some of the shit I had in my head out, so... yeah. Kudos to you if you actually read all of this.
