okay, it's not even February and people are getting started with Valentine's Day nonsense.
I'll make this simple for you. Modern Valentine's Day is a consumerist "holiday" almost specifically geared towards hopeless romantics and people who don't understand that acts of kindness/affection are a regular part of a relationship and not something you save for 1/365 days a year. If anything good can come of it, it's that I get to buy decent chocolate dirt-cheap after the pharmacies need to sell their overstocked heart-shaped boxes.
You like someone? Awesome. Just tell them and stop playing childish games. Let natural friendships take their course without trying to push something or make stuff awkward. You're in a relationship? Treat your significant other well all year 'round, and don't wait for one day out of the year just because your damn calendar tells you to.
Or you can give in to crass consumerism. Your call.
Aren't I romantic?
ugh.

FA+

it sets up kids early for a HORRIBLE relationship paradigm.
But relationships in itself is another topic. But one thing I do know is that monogamy is something earned, not given.
AND DON'T FORGET TO BUY CHOCOLATES, FLOWERS, AND JEWELRY THAT ONE DAY IN FEBRUARY BECAUSE THAT'S HOW THEY KNOW YOU LOVE THEM
I can also get behind her, but that's another story altogether.
seriously.
also, no risk of pregnancy if she let's me take the rear entrance.
OH MY
I'm intrigued. Tell me more, good sir.
I'm 50/50 with this, sure its blown up, but, I like to set side my schedule to have a dinner with my gay partner on that day (without crazy couples looking at us in disgust)
Also, I support you loving your mang, mang. I might be straight, but I'm a fan of love regardless. *brofist*
I do try to do it when i'm free and open in my schedule, regardless if its a holiday or not. Though the good thing about that holiday is afterwards when all the candy is half off, nothing better than walking out with 15 bags for 9 dollars
bought her something you thought she'd like? cool, but where's her fucking flowers? Not everyone falls into whatever the hell classic "romance" is supposed to entail. Furthermore, you should never "need" an excuse, but the problem's deeper than that. Valentine's Day doesn't make an excuse, it creates an expectation, which is just about as anti-romantic as I can think of. It becomes a tit-for-tat exercise in guilting and pressuring, and that's not what a healthy relationship should have.
fuck that noise.
Likewise, all Christmas sales and activities should be banned until after Advent Sunday; except, obviously, for Advent Calendars, which may go on sale after Halloween. Halloween ads should be banned until October 15th. As for Easter, we should not have to put up with ads until all the green beer is gone. St Paddy's Day ads haven't been a problem so far...
but seriously, Easter ads? what the fuck are we selling anything during easter for?
...okay, candy, but still!
