proof that socalism is not plausible in todays world

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little..
The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. It could not be any simpler than that.
Remember, there IS a test coming up. The 2012 elections.
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I'm not one for free handouts, but I do feel that enough has to be done so that the lower/lazy classes of people don't live in complete poverty or die when there's a simple cure for instance. I know they may have a bad attitude or lack education by their own choice, but at the end of the day they are our fellow beings - so just because they don't care about anyone else or sometimes themselves, should that stop us caring about them?
Not tryin' to start a debate or anything, was just spewing the thoughts of a husky =3 UKFur here too, so no expert, but I gather there is a similar issue is most developed countries.

If grading was like capitalism: Only top 5% would get an A and rest 95% would get an F
...
Anyway;
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
Split the apple on two pieces;
1*1/2=2 apples ! :)
Also
10 people with 100€ may do more 'work' than one with 1000€ ...
Which comes to the main thing: If the internet is took down by bills that restrict more rights, Hollywood would look just as bad.
What this professor's experiment proved is that COMMUNISM cannot work. Nearly all of Europe is socialist. Germany is incredibly socialist and boosts one of the strongest economies in the world. Scandanavia is socialist and is at the top of the list in terms of best places to live, and countries with the highest quality of life. Even the mighty capitalist United States practices its fair share of socialism. Medicare? Medicaid? Social Security? Unemployment? Family Medical Leave Act? All socialist programs.
The only thing related to socialism that President Obama has pushed for is Socialized Medicine. As much as people would hate to admit it, socialized medicine works, and most of the world has it, and are laughing at the US because we don't.
My Gods...there are people crossing over to Cuba...OUR SWORN ENEMY, to take advantage of their healthcare because its too expensive for them here.
The problem with the insurance company set up we have in the States is that they are not c retailed from from ripping people off. they charge a premium for their service, and people get it because they cant afford the outrageous cost of health care. But the minute a person comes down with a serious disease, watch out! Here comes the insurance companies to claim their share of the profits made, by jacking up that premium to the point where the having the insurance makes no difference on their finances. They might as well not have it and maybe end up having that debt hanging over their head for the rest of their life because they will never make enough to fully pay it off in their lifetime. Don't tell me this is not true because when my father was diagnosed with bone cancer that's exactly whatever insurance company they had did to them...and now from what I understand my mother is stuck with a bill that she wont ever get paid off before she passes away herself. That's just one instance where a page out of socialism's book would work in this country. There are others.
