100 suits update + premade suits sale + future contests

100 fullsuits goal:
So as January comes to a close, we now have a better idea of how hard 100 full suits will be to make. Our goal was to finish 9 commissions this month, and as of the 30th, we have completed 7, 2 are 75% or more complete, and 1 side project is nearly done. So it looks like we will have at least 8 done by February. 8 x 12 is 96, so we aren't horribly far off. Regardless, this is a GOAL. These are not all commissions, nor are they all deadlines. In fact, only 2 of the suits we made this month had a January deadline, the rest are completed significantly earlier than scheduled. It would be ridiculous for us to accept 100 commissions. Injury, illness, time off, sick dog, sick grandma... things come up. We are still accepting about the same amount of commissions as last year. What we plan on doing is to get some done early, and refill in their slots with new commissions. This way we will never have a workload that we can not handle. (trade secret, [not really])
Premade suits sale:
Our second plan to help get to our 100 fullsuit goal is to make some projects on the side. Doing this eliminates a lot of extra time that is needed on commissioned projects. We literally have a notebook full of future characters and suits that we will be building on the side. We plan to sell these either here on FA, or on ebay. The suits will be brand new, unnamed, they will come with custom feet paws and a character badge to the name of your choice. Advantages of these is that it will be a chance to get a suit at a slight discount vs a custom commission. There will literally be no waiting to get it. Also, you can see exactly what the suit looks like before yo buy it. We hope this idea works as there are a LOT of characters that we would like to build from our own heads. Ideally, it would be like a DHC catalog.
Future contests:
Definitely have some more contests in mind. Valentines day is coming up, so we have been thinking about something related to that. Before V-day, we may have something coming up on our twitter. *hint hint* Also, I would like to do a DHC suit only contest as well... February will be a fun month.
Thanks for reading. January commissions will be posted in the next week or so.

CONTESTS YEAH <3<3
Good luck on reaching your goal! :D
If you happen to make a lion/lioness in your pre-mades, I'll be all over that ;D lol
Good luck overall with getting the 100 Commissions done through ^^
SO!
Saturday = you get moolah
Next week = I ship out DTD :)
Can't wait to see some premade suits! What a great idea. Possibly 2nd suit here I come!!
Meaning.. Try and stay away from wolves, foxes, etc. Reason being is that, well, there are so many of them. I personally would like to see your skills being applied to other species.
Perhaps a snow leopard, or a moose, or a loon, or a zebra. Maybe a monkey (lemur?), ocelots, bat, an opossum, a rhino, a reptile of some sort like a gecko or snake...
Or a hybrid, or even an alien!
Endless possibilities<3
I'd like to see more variety in the suits out there. While canines are great (I am one myself), there are so many other things one could experiment with. My only concern would be whether or not you could prove yourself to be good at other kinda of anatomy. I've seen far too many "wolves" that looks like cats with marker coloured onto them...
Maybe I should change my fursona then to something more rare. By that logic I could get my suit for cheaper than almost 2,000$. o__o
most people in this fandom are canines, so they sell best.
Does that.. Make sense?
It's like if Wal-mart were the only store. Everyone would wear Wal-mart clothes. Then a smaller eccentric store like a curio shop comes along. People are interested in it because it's "cool" and "different" and "unique" and they'll be willing to pay the same amount of money for that things that are different. I know it seems weird but honestly if bigger suit makers took a bit more of an open stance on the fursuits they made, it could change a lot and get a bit of diversity back into the fandom. I would personally like that very much..
But it would be frustrating to spend 90+ hours on a weird critter and have it sell for a low price.
I've tried to sell art pieces and gave up, thinking no one would buy it but then a month later someone came and paid full price with a tip! =3
And it doesn't have to be TOO weird. I just listed a few random animals. Genets are my favourite animal and I only know of one that's been turned into a fursuit. They're adorable little viverridae. <3
Thats when ill have money to get a suit. :P
