Had some spare time at work today so i broke out some of the items given to us and considered "Broken." I pulled out something called a Alto ID Card Printer. Plugged it in and indeed it was non-functional. The machine would make noise but the light would not come on. After unscrewing the side i found that all that happened was a little rubber belt had slipped off. Once replaced, everything worked just fine. Poof, Instant $1600 ID badge card printer now functional! First thing I did was test it out printing Dummy Badges for co-workers. I'm not completely sure how it does it but the ink is embedded into the card. You can even buy Holo-cards or cards with magnetic strips to print on. I'm thinking about taking some custom artwork from here and creating REAL PVC card badges out of them. (would have to be done after hours) So in Conclusion, I guess i can now print out "Official" looking badges for anything.
