So I get a youtube message from someone claiming to be from MTV looking for furries to do an episode of "True Life".

Uhm, anybody else get this message?

Staying away from that shit, MTV is bad news, they'll twist it anyway possible to get more views out of their gullible audience.

ehh im seeing it as half legit. becuase I did a audition for that show already for something else. so I dont think itll be that bad. but who knows?

O.o Interesting stuff if it's legit. On one paw I think we do need the decent kind of publicity to clear people's misconceptions. On the other paw, 9 out of 10 media links I see about furries I find rather distasteful.

Yeah, I also think you'd have to have a bit of self-respect to NOT do something like this as well (IE sell out just to be on TV); that's just what I kinda think though.

I'd do it if I knew it was going to be tasteful. It might just be me but I do the fursuit things because I LIKE attention lol. Just not the wrong kind...

Try to do right by furries! They'll twist words regardless, but you'll be ready if you reherse what you'll say beforehand, lest we get another guy that makes furries sound like a circle of sex addicts :V

You gotta be nuts to go on TV and talk about furries. Especially MTV! I thought I was smart enough to call into KROQ radio station and tell them about Califur. To this day, I wonder why the hell I said those things. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Avoid this at all cost.....
Let MTV do a episode about music videos instead.

Yeah, I will avoid it. Too I think there's a certain aspect of "selling out" of some who will do it just to be on TV or be a "popufur" etc, and I'd like to think I have a bit more self-respect than to do that. Plus going on tv as a furry, heh, it's best for furries to know I'm a furry, and not just random joe. Also, we need to hang at a con sometime
