Hmm, well, maybe you can think more of your main characters, how/if they know each other, if they are in relationships, what roles they have, etc. I say 'roles' because I have a character for every kind of mood im in, maybe if I want to draw just a standard pinup I have a gal for that, if I want to draw some silly belly expansion I have a character for that, etc. When you know what each role your cast has, think of what your cast is missing, for example, you simply may think you have too many female characters so you may want to make a male. Maybe your characters are all silly and carefree, maybe this new male character can be straight up serious, maybe you don't have a character that comes to mind who enjoys a certian fetish when you feel like drawing it, so this character could enjoy that fetish, maybe he could be a species you would like to experiment with, etc. After all this maybe work out how this character knows your other characters and such, you get the idea. This kind of thinking is how i tend to round out my cast and think up new characters

He makes a good point. Often artists will create new characters to address their own thoughts and feelings on new and unexplored subjects for them, especially in the adult world when dealing with eroticism and fetish.

I myself have done this many times. I often incorporate a little of my own personality or other people's I may have known into my characters to give them life.
