I need some Artist Suggestions!

This is a message to all my tablet using Artist friends out there.

I need to buy a new Tablet but im torn on a few different models from Wacom and i wanted to know if there differences are really that important

First is the Bamboo Create and the Bamboo Connect now the Create is 200 dollars and has a large 8.5" by 5.6" work area while the Connect is 80 bucks and the only differences is the work are size is 5.8" by 3.6" I mainly wanted to know if that size difference in the work area matters at all in the long run.

And if it dose shoul I get the Bamboo Create for 200 or just spend 20 dollars mroe and get an Intuos 4 Small is it worth it?

That was a mistake on my part. When I first opened up the journal, there was nothing written in the body for me (my computer probably was slow in loading the text), so I thought the journal title was just her asking for artists to check out. I didn't even see the journal text till now

As a tablet user myself, I have to say, the larger drawing area is worth every penny. I'm actually going to be investing in a medium Intuos 4 soon.

I disagree my gf has one and I hate it much prefer the little space less effort to draw.

I've tried using smaller myself and they didn't feel right for my natural arm motion. So far the mediums do well. I wish I could afford to go to a large or even a cintiq.

I guess it depends if you used bigger first of not I used to use bigger and it took me a while to get used to small.

All I do is steer people away from non-Wacoms. :)
I'd go for the Intuos if you can reasonably afford it.

I always use Wacom tablets, i currently have a basic Bamboo, small.
You can go the extra mile and pay the 1,000$ for an Intuos if you really want to.

I reccommend Bamboo tablets for the cheaper working ones.
You don't need a big screen on your tablet to draw.

... A medium Intuos is only about $350 or so. The smallest Cintiq is about $1K though.

Personally, I always thought a large tablet would be better, but it turns out you don't end up using most of it. If the one you have right now is uncomfortable due to being too small, settling for a bigger might be good. However, if you're really comfortable, don't waste money on a bigger one.

Unless it's a fancy one with build-in screen, then a bigger one might be useful.

In the end, it's all up to personal preferences, I guess. If there's a way to test them...

I'm using a Bamboo Fun which is similar in size to the smaller one and have no problems. However, I have heard some artists having wrist problems using smaller ones.

Also, I'm not sure if there's a real difference, but the Wacom site says the Bamboo Capture is more for digital imaging than the Wacom Connect and it's only $20 more

Yea it just comes with photoshop elements thats the only difference XD

Well they also say it has some kinda addtional touch pad function not sure what that dose, i might just get the bamboo capture for now only 100 dollars and once i really get in to my art again invest in an intuos

There's a key feature you have to watch for: make sure your tablet has pressure sensitivity. Otherwise you might as well be using a mouse!

I surest getting a wacom bamboo fun or something cheap until you art reach ultra uber awesome level. This is not an insult, But I got a cheap one... when I get better like ALOT better I will buy a much nicer one.

The thing is... as well once you get used to a tablet it sort of becomes like a musical instrument or a favorite hat. You need to find something that works for you.

that is, paying less for the same shiz is better

Just from pesronall experiance the size dosnt make much of a differance, after a while you get used to it. Little advice get a tablet with the usb cord built into the tablet. I bought a new one, bigger more expensive model hopeing it would help with sketching in photoshop and for the most part it was alright but it came with a seperate usb drive cord that kept malfuntioning even after exhanging it twice at best buy. I ended up saying to hell with it and went back to using my old wacom bambo tablet.
