BABE: Bunnies Against Bunny Eaters
General
What with all the furs running around trying to make a meal off me, and realizing that this same thing is no doubt happening to many of our cuddly cousins out there in FA, my friend
xcm and I decided to start a group dedicated to bunnies and their plight in this world so full of hungry predators.

Expect to see pictures and who knows what concerning bunnies and their fight to survive or even pwn those who would make them into their lunch. So bunnies, let's unite and stand up to the predators. Let them know that we won't hold still for being the blue plate special anymore!!! You're all invited to join the group and the cause!!
PS Anyone who gets their panties in a knot about this, LIGHTEN UP!! It's just for giggles. Okay?

FA+

but then there also no harm in tasteing a bunny every now and then either
*raises hand* permission to skewer them with their own utensils! XD
so if you're that subby, would you be easy to herd too?
never been leashed...
You bet your cute bunny butt it is. I can't remember how many people have nibbled on me, and especially my poor, chewed-up ears! (She says, as if she minds in the slightest.) Lucky for me, most of the predators I know are kindly souls, but even so it's time to show the world that rabbits aren't to be taken lightly!
It's true. Most predators that I know would never harm me. They might get a taste of me now and again, but we both enjoy that equally I'd say. The group is aimed at those few other ones though. They should all learn.....bunnies deserve more respect. And I say let's teach 'em!
It's just as well that most predators you meet treat you with the respect you deserve, though. I'd hate to have to teach any of 'em a lesson on how to treat cute rabbits!
The same goes for me. Anyone tries to cook you (or anything else bad) and they'd be finding out what the wrath of a vampire bunny is!
Not enough people know about me to try to eat me
we need mor bunnies and that can only be reached if they don't get eaten
but i also dont want to quit like my fetishes XD
what if this group was made by a predator just to get a bunch of bunnies at one place? *serious meme face*
What makes you below the radar so?
Mainly what I meant by gaining legitimacy is acceptance on the part of the general public, and not something to be hated, feared, or generally held up for ridicule by them. Take, for instance, Trekkies or the comic book crowd. When you ask someone what images come to mind when you give those two genres, people may laugh but generally they seem to think of them as harmless nerds or intelliegent geeks. By contrast ask people about furries, and they're likely to come across as socially-stunted sexual deviants and perverts, who, if they can't satisfy their unrestrained libidos with twisted fetishes on each other, will turn to having sex with animals and small children. Certainly the media hasn't been kind to furs; in the past ten years, Vanity Fair and the show CSI are the first things that come to mind. Media sensationalism, you claim? Maybe. But then when you log on to FA and see the material right in your face, and read people's rants on their journals, it's REALLY hard to say there isn't anything to the stereotypes.
Granted, sex is going to be a big part of the genre, as I'm sure it is in the seedier parts of every other genre out there. But my thing is, when fetish/bestial/pedophilia/gay porn are so exclusively favored to the detriment of artists like me who chose not to trade in such material, that's a problem. Similarly, when at cons there are panels on how to answer questions from the media, or congoers are instructed to be on the watch for members of the media lest they see something they shouldn't, that's also a problem. That means there's a little too much "anything goes in a consequence-free" atmosphere. If there is a trend to make this genre more family-friendly, it sure as hell ain't being reflected in the culture on FA.
But I get it now. I'm not a furry. My stuff isn't furry (it's anthro) and isn't of interest to anyone here. My time would have been in the early 1990s, when the Internet was new to the genre, and there were few anthro webcomics like mine. I don't belong here. Even among misfits I'm a misfit. I get all that. But as I said, I just wish like hell I'd have known that six years ago when I was first starting out on FA. I'd have either kept my expectations exceedingly low, or not joined FA in the first place. But nevertheless, if my time on FA has taught me anything, it's who I am creatively and what I am as an artist. Or, not am, in the case of furry.
There are plenty of clean anthro comix around besides yours. Some quite well read. Maybe you just haven't found your audience yet.
http://freefall.purrsia.com/ff100/fv00001.htm I set you up with the first of their strips so you could start at the beginning. Watch out though. Once I started reading each of these I got hooked and had to read them all the way through. There's a lot of both!
