i need some help/advice from someone who knows cars...please
14 years ago
my 07 malibu needs to pass north carolina inspection, but i went and it turns out that my third brake light, the one on my trunk, is not lighting up right. it turns on, but super dim. not enough to pass. after spending 2 days running around i found that it was an issue in the module that controls the electricity running to all parts of the car. the voltage for that ONE wire is super low. it will cost 500 dollars to replace the module, and i the mechanic could not find any alternative too replacing it.
what forums are good to go too for advice, does anyone know a secret...please, i need an alternative cause 500 dollars is alot of cash

I made the mistake of choosing a cavilear instead of the malibu but the "module" shouldn't be that big. I would dig out the manual (most car part shops will have one) and find out what this guy is talking about and take it somewhere else.
If it's a 1inch block pop it your self. if not find a cheaper autoshop.
thats a dealer repair shop?
No wonder it's auto gouge time
All certified shops should be able to, even second hand dealer shops.
you can fix em yer self their cheaper ta fix
And the auto industry has been a conspiracy since the mid to late 90s
