At first I began thinking of an adaptation of the manga Parasyte untill things got trippy near then end. Then I thought Cthulhu once her eyes exploded after looking at some humongous thing with tenticle like apendages and a whole bunch of eyes. I dont know much of the mythos but H.P. Lovecraft seems like the only logical conclusion

You know what the weird thing is? I think I understand what was supposed to have happened in that video.

The pool those guys snuck into was connected at the bottom to some other dimension. Since the girl and guy who were kissing jumped in first and stayed in the water, they both got infected by whatever was on the other side first. After that, they attacked the other two, getting the guy. When the girl dived in and found the portal at the bottom of the pool, her eyes blew out of her head from what she saw, which was probably something no normal human was supposed to have seen without... well... having their eye burst out of their heads.

Thinking a bit more about some things, it *could* even have been something to do with Cthulu (sp?), since there are several monsters involved in that who have near completely shapeless bodies that meld and blend like that, and most of those legends seem to have something to do with the sea or water.

I really like this video by DyE. I saw it months and months ago, but it really made me laugh around the end the first time. Like, it's incredibly obvious it's Lovecraftian shenanigans once you get to the end. But the shear simplicity and vanilla that it is at the beginning really gets you in the mind set for this not being the case. Beautiful animation, as well.

Why are they bothering discussing it exactly? Do they not understand the style of the Lovecraft mythos? I mean, I know a lot of people sort of WTF at the end, before it dawns on them, but I presumed the literature was well enough known for people to sort of get that's what was going on. It's just basic Lovecraft.
