Karma

It must be emphasized that:
We are not an official Church of Satan group. We are not here on behalf of the Church of Satan. We are not a "Satanic Community."
We are a group on FurAffinity that are made up of individuals who follow the Church of Satan and the works of Anton LaVey.
4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates!
This is one of the many rules I go by in my day to day life. I know many Satanists, or indeed nearly anyone non-Christian can often be labelled as being a bad person; frankly, I probably am. But does that stop me from helping others? No it does not!
So what of karma? Many times in my life I've gone out of my way to help others, the deserving, and yes I've even broken the statement above and wasted my time and effort on people who didn't deserve it (of course it did bite me in the ass in the long run). What I haven't found, however, is much of this in return. To some extent I always believed in the idea of kindness gets you kindness back; and in some cases yes, it has happened. But more often than not I'm stuck finding that karma is just a load of crap. People will constantly tell me "it's karma, it'll come back to help you, etc. etc." yet I've not seen decent returns on my deeds.
One example is of the last few days. As my grandfather was a victim of cancer, I always promised myself that I'd help out against it in some way. I'm not one for parades and stickers and pins and whatnot; so I chose to donate blood. Not only that, I've always wanted to give blood, purely cause I believe it's an easy thing to do and it helps those in need (one whole blood donation can save 3 lives).
So the other day, I head to the blood donation centre; 100% fine on all their tests except one - my pulse was too high. 4 beats too high. So because of this, my 2 hour trip on 4 buses was all wasted. I had to take the same amount and go back home, not losing more than the finger prick test's worth of blood. They also told me to go to my doctor in case of any heart issues I may have; and as I predicted and even insisted to them on the day - All I had was a slightly faster heart rate due to abundant stress. So two whole days were wasted; all because I wanted to do good for another.
Therefore, I ask; what of karma? My views on it have slipped so much I'm starting to think "why bother?" nowadays. Surely there has to be some line to be drawn here, some guideline as to the when and the why and the how much. So, ponder that as you will.
And apologies as to the lack of regularity with these journals. I will try and write them as often as I can, but yeah, life gets in the way sometimes. Take care all.

Maybe you just chose a bad moment, or even a bad idea itself. If you still want to help out against in the name of your grandfather, I'm sure there are other ways.
And if you have the same "your heart is too fast" problem... maybe you're already receiving your good Karma payback... a health warning of a trouble you have, and you should look at to get it... "on time".
But I agree about karma being horse-shit.
If you do good things to people and for people, they'll remember and hopefully return the favor. If you do bad things and piss people off, hurt others...most likely it will come back to bite you. I don't see the universe as being terribly involved, unless maybe you pick up some good energy somewhere. But that can leave. You can't count on much except cause-and-effect and even then things an be surprising.
Doing good things for the sake of it instead of the expectation is always better in my opinion.
