Festivals and such appear to happen somewhat frequently in Japan.
It would be interesting to hear about any festivals anyone has been in or any festivals that have interested this groups people.
Though maybe not 100% related to Shintoism the new year festivals are certainly interesting.

There's also the Cherryblossom festival, which celebrates the start of the spring season when the Cherryblossom trees start blooming. :D

I think cherryblossoms are closest to being one of the most beautiful things in the world, a festival for that is surely very exciting and appropriate

Oh yes, and they're quite fun. I know I've been to one when I was visiting my relatives in Japan, but I was so young I don't remember it too much. But I've been to the ones here in America, and they're still fun. No Sakura trees, but the celebration is all about the coming of Spring. :D
