GWAH HULK SMASH! *Throws pc through wall* (wireless problem

about aweek ago my internet started dropping about every 10-20 minutes. The problem is only with this computer. I have a laptop right next to me and it works fine no problem and one other PC that doesnt have any issues (my brothers) so I don't think it is the router. I have scanned my computer with different antivirus software and it's clean. The computer is always connected with a full 5 bars and says it has internet access but sometimes it drops and in order to get it up and running again I unplug the wireless adapter and plug it in again. At first I thought it might have been the adapter so I swapped it out for a new one and I'm still having the same problems. My wireless is unencrypted. This keeps happening over and over again and I am stumped on what to do. Any advice would help a ton. Thanks!

2) Have you tried disabing and reenabling the wireless card?
No idea then.
Oh, actually, one.
Go into the properties for the wireless card thingy (in the network connections panel) and find and disable IPv6.
It may give you a second option.
If you have broad band unplug the modem count ten second and plug it back in, it might be the cause.
Those two are if you cannot connect through the internet except the second network which is a backup. you are not running a secure network so, it is probability the WiFi adapter. Do what (draco18s) said and reset the WiFi card. I have a Dell you can do it on most computers.

I had a simillar problem on my parents PC. They used a cheap Netgear WPN111 USB wifi, it used to freeze every now and then, getting quite hot. We requested a new one by warranty and they gave us one but the new one began to have issues with the integrated network card and the system in general (the PC freezed while downloading files and accesing the other PC by home network). So, a quick bullet to Vista's head, got a Win7, everything started to work fine but whenever the adapter got hot (4 to 6 hrs ON) it freezed like the old one.
About 2 months ago I got them a Thompson adaptor from my internet supplier from my flat, no problems so far, it only doesen't show the bars.
