I can see what you mean. Personally, I prefer to go with a game's original sound though. In fact, I never could play a game without its sound. Just isn't a complete experience for me.

Anyway, still a fitting song to that game :)

That, and you cant hear the snarls of the critters sneakin' up behind you, if you've got the audio off for listinin' to your own sonic joy. xD

But in hindsight, it DOES make you whip your camera-view around a whole lot more, just to make sure nothin's sneakin' up behind you. So in a wierd way, it improves your base survival skills, in-game. xD

Hehe. I remember a few spots in Dead Space 1 (haven't actually played 2 yet) where it would have been good for my mental health to turn off the sound...

Also, one advice I have gotten for playing Silent Hill was to turn up the brightness of your TV as far as it will go and turn off the sound completely. At least if you're a total wuss when it comes to scary games, like myself :P
