It really says a lot about the furry community that your first assumption on a journal asking about people attending a con, is that I have casual and unprotected sex.

have you not met most of the fandom? it's most of what i see going around lol. i myself am in a monogamous relationship with my bf. Better to spread the info and you go and not need it, than to go and not be married or anything and yiff around, and not need it. Kudos to you for being another positive part of the community =)

Even though it's not my bag personally, I don't look down on those who have casual sex or poly relationships. Slut-shaming is something I'd prefer to not partake in as I believe it's counter-productive to the goal of society as a whole having a positive attitude towards all forms of sexuality. As long as it's between consenting adults and protection is used then I'm more than happy.

Although it's a terrible thing to have happened and what could potentially yet happen if anyone else tests positive, I really hope that this will make people stop and think in future. If even just one person takes heed that they should have safe sex to protect themselves and their partner(s), then something good came out of it.
