I Know were not super friends or anything, but I just want to say I'm proud of you for being so open, one of my good friends is FTM and he's been through so much and I( or no one) can never know how that truly feels. I think anyone willing to take a step like this is truly inspiring and you should feel proud of yourself

I don't think you have any idea how much that means to me. I'm quite afraid of being open about it, since I don't know how my friends/people I know will react. I think this place, and tumblr, are the first to know about who I am, as I don't have the courage to tell anyone I know in real life. Your comment has made me gain just a bit more courage, and I'm extremely happy about that.

You should definitely try to tell people! Try to find someone who can talk to you about it. Maybe your school/area has a LGBT support group. I know a few people who are transgendered and even a few who don't even consider themselves a standard gender (intersex) and it's really opened up my eyes to this new community

but you should be proud of who you are! Coming out with a huge pressure for me, and it put a lot of stress on my life/friendships, but unfortunately that's no where near the pressure your going to face. But that's ok!! because you have a whole community of people ( like me) who support you for who you are.

I think "coming out" is one of the best ways to sort your friends out, from the real and the fake, any real friends would support you no matter what. I lost a few, but through it I gained new bonds in my friendships that swelled up any pain I felt. In the end it's all worth it. I'm just happy to help!

It says a lot about a person to not be held back by social abnormalities, and be open about who they are. It takes a lot of courage and self respect in order to overcome the negative view so often put on LGBTs. I'm currently in the process of coming out to being gay, and just telling the few close people in my life who currently know was extremely difficult, but it beats masking yourself and living as someone who you aren't deep down. So on that note, I wish you the best of luck with everything. And Elliot is a lovely name, good choice!
