So, essentially to the one person who regularly reads my journal (and I know you haven't blocked me anyway, so whatevs), I submit this: The idea of the block list, for journal and submission comments, is used in almost all cases in a manner i can only state is retarded.
Excuse me, I don't like the use the word retarded, A: its a weak word and B: its insulting to a lot of decent people without really conveying how stupid a concept is, as many "retarded" people are actually very intelligent, so I will say that the block list is in almost all cases used in a manner which is Santorum. I like Santorum as a word as it conveys a level of stupidity that is simply mind boggling and also an almost equal level of ignorance.
Where was I?
You see, block lists are fantastic devices to use against spammers, and trolls, essentially nuisances who go out of their way specifically to be nuisances, or advertising noise. That use makes sense, it prevents intentionally abusive assholes from spewing their content all over your page. However, it is almost entirely used to basically stick your fingers in your ears and LALALALALA at anything you don't agree with.
Maybe its just me, but I love to listen to things which don't agree with me/I don't like, its how I learn shit.

And when you see someone doing that to someone else's pages just to be abusive to
anybody and shit, you want them to not have any place on your page or site.
