Someone Stole A Part of my Car
Dont read if cussing offends, I'm really upset right now.
Well went from a good day to a horrid one real fast. someone stole the logo off are van. Not just any van. Are '77 Volkswagen van.
Those. Fuckers.
It happened last night it seems, and some little shits likely real proud of himself right now. But now the most iconic part of my fucking van is gone and not easily replaced and I'm in fucking tears over having someone walk up in the middle of the night walk in my front yard and steal something like that off my car.My first van. Ruined. You cant get parts for these things and the logos are really hard to get for the year I need due to little asses who cant have the car or the van so they have to go and rape other peoples cars just for the image of it. Nothing like that iconic hippy spirit like outright fucking theft.
And even if i did get a new one, even if i did find one somehow...i couldnt fucking use it...and that really really really sucks.

FA+

People suck ;-; i have a love for them campers >.>
anyway i know it's no help but you might be able to find one on ebay at some point if there are none at the moment
<3
I'm kinda screwed. It happened in my own front yard as it were, if i replace its just gonna happen again. Just gonna have to live with it and be glad they didnt bust my windows. My dad thinks we should just paint something on the front. I dont know im still shocked and upset at this point.
although tracking down someone might be hard
But still worth ago ^^
The first night I got my new truck home, a '74 Jeep J10 which I have been hunting forever to find one without rust, someone messed with it. I woke up in the morning and my tailgate was down with the straps unhooked, guess they couldn't figure out how to get it off the rest of the way or something. The thing is near mint with many new/expensive/impossible-to-find parts, so I installed a Viper alarm on it. People can laugh all they want when they see that it has an alarm, that blinking blue light in the cab has worked so far.
If you somehow manage to track them down, I say string them up and drag em behind your v-dub!
Thanks for sharing about your jeep, it helps to know I'm not crazy for raging on this.
My parents owned a van the one down from a splitty and a beetle. If you go to a convention they always sell old or new parts outside, someone is bound to have one for sale.
We have ALOT of them here in the UK my parents used to take me all the time. My other advice do you have a garage? or somewhere you can keep it?
I know how upsetting it must be as they are very nice sort after collectible vans so I know how you feel.
My dad and I work on weekends so getting to any VW event is almost imposable thou a few months back some very major yearly ones happened near here. But next one I hear of I'll just have to suddenly come down with a cold and check.
Thank you for the thought on the swap meet idea, was kinda to emotional to think of it
Its alot bundled up for me to take in even if it wasn't my car id be livid but that it is and my first Van to boot ? I wasn't ready for it. :(
Just a suggestion!
I feel now that we should have glued it on, we had it on the old clips and some extreamly tough double sided tape. Which is how we know it didnt fall off the tape was ripped up and off. I feel like i brought it on my self not puting it on better.
But If I could get another one even if i only had it on for shows. Right now I feel like its hearse without landau bars.
Anyway I will note you later with some pictures, you may have whichever you like most most n.n They're easy to shop since they fit well inside a little bubble envelope
I will calm down and when it comes down to it there was something far more valuable hanging from the mirror in the cab, 50 years of my dads memory's that he built up in every VW van he owned. Which needless to say gets taken out now.
They took it likely just to put on a wall, its really sad they would do that to the vehicle that made them want the logo in the first place.
I hope you can find a reasonably priced replacement for it, and I hope the Universe takes care of whatever piece of crap stole it. It doesn't matter how small, stealing is stealing.
I'm sorry you had something horrid like that happen to you, its not right and thats what drives me insane. I know things are wrong, i dont do them. So Simple. But for some people it seems like thinking that its wrong in the first place dosnt even phase them.
St.Louis is such a nice city when you identify your location by what park is nearest to you, lol
let's hope they cut their fingers when they try to install it on their shitty van, destroy somethign valuable when putting it on a oh-so-proud display on their shelf, or get ripped off greatly trying to sell it over ebay.
just somethign costing them more than they could have possibly gained. just a little bit justice, for once.
Not a drop of coolant anywhere, that's the scariest part. :V
it makes it hard owning a classic car...
if you don't find one you could mount the spare tire to the front.
also search your area for automotive fleamarkets.....it's where we've found all our VW Beetle parts.
Marks Bug Barn is a place to search for as well...as he sells new and used parts.
even look in your local Junkyard....or vintage auto dealer if you have one
