I am completely aware that the ages of late teens to 21ish suck, but I've noticed a trend with some people lately that I think I really need to address.

Please stop lying about your age. If you're 18, and think you won't get any respect or will be seen as a little kid, what's the absolute worst thing you could possibly do? Well, it's acting like a little kid and saying you're older than you are. Lying about who you are just to make people respect you.

You have to know it won't work for forever, eventually people will catch on. I don't see the point at all? If you tell me you're 18, or 19, or whatever, and you and I talk and chat and hang out or whatever and you're cool, then who cares? Character doesn't necessarily come with age, and anyone with a brain won't judge you based just on that age. They might avoid dating you, or talking about certain subjects, or tailor their conversations differently, but they shouldn't judge you because you're barely an adult. And if they do, they won't make very good friends now would they?

I have zero tolerance about this, and it's because if you can't be honest with me about the very basics about who you are, how can I ever be expected to trust you on anything more involved?
