Ngala is 'ew'? :(

Last week was Scandinavian Halloween and my dorm held a costume party for the occasion.
Since I had to work a night-shift at the local hospital the same night, I didn't want to spend money on a full costume. So I put on Ngala's head and hoof-gloves and went to show her off for a little while.
Most people responded well, except one: The American exchange student living in my hall. His reaction when seeing Ngala: "I don't like the long hair in the back, it reminds me of a furry."
"It is a furry," I replied.
"Ew, get it away!" he yelled (!).
It actually hurt my feelings. He knows me. We've been living together in the same dorm hall for a month, I've taken time out of my schedule to help him and show him around, I show him a gorgeous mask that I love and - ew.
He's the first furry-hater I've met in person. Danes, at least, seem more tolerant - probably because they don't know what a 'furry' is. -_-
Can't wait for CF and EF. I want to be with my 'extended family' again.

you have one of the most beautiful costumes ive ever come across, and it was an absolute honour to meet you, it was really such a pleasure to see such a lovely costume and you could'nt of been nicer!,
i recon he must be a general mean pants who doesnt tolerate anyone "out of the norm" T_T

*hug you* Humans are sometimes... stupid and brainless.
The reactions of others will sometimes be hurtful and negative. As upsettings and dissapointing as that might be, try to take it as a nice big flag over these people's head that says "NOT WORTH MY TIME" and consider it their loss. *snug
Also, let him figure things out on his own from now on, having spent all that time helping someone to only have them throw something like that at you tells you all you need to know about this person. Stuff em. Your fuzzy family looks forward to having you come to CFz in a few months and we love you.

Ngala is gorgeous! And yea it's very likely that he doesn't know what furry is, especially when he reacts like that.
