gravid_inc with their image: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7496420/A silly piece, and though they win by default and weren't really interested in the prize but rather the fun, they'll still be getting one of the games if at least for thanks for actually submitting ^^ Fun was the goal, so I'm glad there was at least a small amount =3
As for how the contest went as a whole... I'm sure you can take a guess :P I'll probably not be holding another contest, at least not for a while. I know a few people said "you should hold the contest closer to an update", but 1) the point was to produce some enjoyment since there wasn't a recent release to produce that enjoyment instead, and 2) I had a contest shortly after an update last time and that didn't fare much better than this. Maybe the prizes weren't good enough, maybe people aren't interested enough in competing and would rather do it on their own, maybe I flubbed the descriptions and made the contests sound more intimidating than they were. Whatever the case may be, it's obvious that I probably won't be able to ever hold a "successful" contest. Which is not a bad thing; if people don't find enjoyment out of them, then there's no reason in doing them anyways.
And before anybody asks: No, the next release won't be done soon. As I said in the State of the Nimin journal, I'm preparing to move (hopefully sooner rather than later), and in doing so I'm learning another programming language. Kinda hard to work on one language when trying to bolster another. I do get around to doing Nimin stuff every now and then, I've even come up with new ambitious content I'm sure many of you will like when it's finished, the work just isn't that fast.
I know in the process of the contest, and in many other places, people say I should update more often/spread things out across smaller updates, but: No. That's not how I work. I work on a big update and do a major release that makes replaying the game from scratch worthwhile. If I did frequent updates, like Fenoxo, I'd be getting bugged by dozens of people (dozens more than I already get) about what will be in the next update and when I'll do this or that or whatever. Putting large gaps in between updates actually reduces the amount of clamor I get in return and I find it rather pleasant. I didn't make the game to be popular, I did it out of my own enjoyment. I do appreciate the fanbase I've gotten and I'm glad I could make people happy, I'll even work in my own way to make people happier with it. But, I do not feel obliged to make people happy just to maintain my popularity, so when you try to say "people leave when you don't update as frequently", my response is simple: I don't care :P

again sorry XC
I totally forgot about it ><
I owe youapitcure okay?
For free I suck ><
However, I think it's awesome you do these kind of contests, just because it's a fun way to generate interest in your game.
