To Artists Who Take Commissions

Stuff goes here
Paid work should always come before gift art/trades, sorry, that's just how it works. If someone pays you for a service, you should put that service first and foremost, basic business practices. Also remember that customers use all sorts of mediums to reach you, take my iPhone for instance, a lot of websites load differently on mobile devices. Also, after a client has paid, it's really rude and unprofessional to do the "I'll get to it when I get to it." You were paid for something, do your job. Outside life comes first? Well don't accept money if you can't take responsibility. To that same end, customers have outside lives too and shouldn't have to hound you for something paid for. That's all

For just one example. I get a female commission. I much prefer males obviously, so a female piece won't be personally appealing to me to do ever. So I'll get to some male projects first. Then when I'm drawing and suddenly get in the zone in doing more organic, slender, curved gestures (which the female form is more known for rather than angular male) I'll hop onto the female project since I feel in a much better mood and artistic mindset to do it.
Art isn't just a skill in creating, but also a psyche and mindset. The better that mindset and appropriate mood for particular projects, the better the end result. Forced art suffers.
