well it wasn't the voice that made people angry, it was the fact that the production company caved in to pressure from people who thought derpy was offensive to mentally retarded people. She was an animation error that the fans latched onto and bronies really enjoyed seeing her as an official character. Its like creating fanart, and seeing that character come to life on the actual show. Then seeing that character be completely changed so it ruined the creativity of that character. I do think that the voice should have been changed, seems more feminine and fits her better, but the original was still adorable.

I loved derpy's original voice. To me it made her sound silly and fun.

I've never even seen any of MLP yet, so I didn't really know anything about it. ;^^ However, I am well aware enough of the character Derpy from fanart I've seen of her. Looking at it contextually though, I can understand why her personality/demeanor and VA for the character had changed to that degree.

if you really thing about it the caveing in to change it to the soccar moms or who ever dipshits that were bitchen moaning probly doing same to some one real life. in turn insulted them more by saying they or that type was not good enough to be on TV. thus not includeing them.
